Interesting how they've joined us in the league that their luck pushed us into. I'm not going onto their board to take the mick, they must be gutted but should never have won the CL in the first place.

...which must then make the rest of the 'league' stronger, if it was weaker there'd be a gap between all those teams and the rest...what part of that is so difficult for you to understand!

No it doesn't. It means the top and bottom teams have both declined which has brought the standard of the league down.

If the top teams and bottom teams are all doing worse, but the midtable teams are doing as expected how can the league be stronger?

Have the top clubs built on last year? Yes. - with the exception of arsenal, some might argue. (although I think they'll come good.)

Are those 2 top clubs still at the top? Yes. Is there still a gap like last year? Yes.

Have more teams pushed their way up the league? Yes. Swansea, West Brom, west ham to name 3.

Is the league tighter? Without a doubt. Only 9 points separate 3rd from 14th.

So despite nearly everything being the same, nothing separates a huge chunk of the league, 15 games in.

How can the league not be stronger and much more competitive?!

According to The Fail, Villa are trying to unload Darren Bent in January. Apparently, the asking price is £18mil!! Shurely shome mishtake? Shouldn't there be a decimal point in the middle there somewhere?

I can't be bothered with this, If your happy with that as some degree of comfort as to why you're so ****, carry on. <ok>

The Moutinho story has just come about because of that twitter photo of AVB in the crowd. It appears that there's no weight behind it at all unfortunately, but as usual, the papers have jumped on it.

We've been linked with more than one Porto player.
Moutinho's got the highest profile, but we were also supposedly after Christian Atsu and someone else, who I've forgotten.
Villas-Boas must've been there to watch someone, mustn't he?

I'd be surprised if there was any money for the likes of Moutinho, given we had a pretty good spend in the summer.

I'm sure that AVB would love to have Moutinho. If the PSG's of the world are not interested in him, we may well still get him. But as The Guardian article pointed out, we're liable to get outbid by any one of the moneybags European clubs.

He could have just as easily been monitoring a PSG player for all we (or the papers) know. Guillaume Hoarau may well be available, for example, due to Ibrahimovic and Gameiro taking his place in the starting team.

He didn't play, though! Didn't even make the bench, actually. Might well be on the way out, unless he's injured.
