Yeah a fair bit of movement for us was well. Ultimately given who’ll probably be leaving, we’ll need three starters, at RB, CM and RW, and probably another three or four to bulk out the squad. When you consider we also need to keep in mind the HG quota, it’s not going to be easy. As others have said, we’ll need to look off the beaten path again, at players like Bowen or Grealish who other top 6 sides might not look at, as well as aiming for one or two big signings with the big bucks we’re likely to get from Eriksen etc.

We could probably improve the side/ squad with predominantly HG players.

Chilwell, Wan-Bissaka and Grealish would be most welcome in my eyes. I also like the idea of Zaha but realistically getting Zaha AND Wan-Bissaka is unlikely and so Wan-Bissaka takes preference by a country mile. Bowen/ Watkins could both add some strength in the WF roles.

Wouldn't surprise me if the club went down that sort of route. Most of our likely outs are foreigners too; Vorm, Aurier, Trippier, Wanyama, Janssen, GK, Llorente and possibly Lamela.

Fergie knew to be successful defence was number ! So he always had choppers in his team.Plus a bit of lolly to buy everyones top scorer! It worked!
It took him 5 years or so to win his first trophy so other clubs should heed that message and not dismiss coaches so quickly. At the moment fate's leading Poch in the right direction i.e. not instant success but a slow build up. If a coach wins two trophies in his first season he's expected to maintain it and when he falls short the following year he's soon shown the door.

Let's just be patient and keep going as we are. Yes, we might be falling short just before the last hurdle but it won't always be so.

If we are going in for Joachim Andersen that could be a masterstroke, because with him, Sanchez and Foyth in place that could potentially cover us at centre back for a good four or five seasons

I hope Janssen and Lamela stay.

He also didn't sell key players to do it

I've only seen YouTube clips of Andersen but he definitely looks Toby-esque. Could be a smart signing if Toby goes as expected.

I like Lamela but his fitness has made him too unreliable, I don't think he's managed to stay fit for a whole season and we can't persist with that, it's too much of a strain on the squad.

Janssen is a goner. I'm happy for him he's got back in from the wilderness for these last few games but he's just not good enough. I'd rather extend Llorente's deal and than keep Janssen.

Ok Dier..........ish. I'd like Vinnie to be given a last chance.

He strikes me as a Toby/Verts hybrid, as he plays out of the back like Verts yet also chips the ball 30+ yards to feet like Toby

If, as some assume, Verts is headed back to Ajax when his contract expires then having him mentor Andersen for a season could be valuable

I don't even think he wants a last chance, I think he wants out ASAP as he knows his chances will always be limited, he would've left in the summer had he not broken his foot. We hoped he'd be the Dutch Kane when we signed him due to his record in Holland, unfortunately he became the Dutch Soldado.

Yeah that'd be ideal for him. The way Foyth has played this season suggests to me he's studied Vertonghen a lot and I'd say it's done wonders for him. Still has a long, long way to go to ever get anywhere near Jan's level but the signs are pretty promising. If Andersen could do similar then we're laughing with our CB options for the future.

Have a very, very enjoyable evening lads <cheers>

I've never liked Arsenal, but they (the owners) need to listen to some of their fans. This one talks a lot of sense......and he's seen every game they've played, even in Dubai. Great to have fans like that!

I think we're solid enough down the left, especially with Rose recently resembling his old self again.
Think that's a bit premature, CK. Rose has had a few 'better' games and one really good game (against Brighton!). Really hope your confidence isn't misplaced, but he's hardly got a 'consistent' tag.
