It was penalty. Why? Because the ref awarded it and UEFA have upheld his decision as correct. So woulda, coulda, shoulda is irrelevant. Is it really controversial anyway? Many penalties have been awarded recently in more debatable circumstances. I'd feel hard done by if my team had been on the wrong end of the decision, but I'd have to accept that I didn't have an argument against it. The law makers have decided that if a defender blocks the ball with his arm, having jumped and turned his back on a shot from distance, thus (inevitably) raising his arms in the process and making his body a bigger target, it's "handball". So the law been applied as the law makers intend it to be applied. Nobody has got anything wrong (except the defender). Players should adapt accordingly in future.
I thought the free kick hit the man's leg before the arm.....I guess I must been seeing spiders again!
United do seem to get some European breaks.I remember Spurs going to Old Trafford with a 2-0 lead...then United got a break.....Cantwell broke Mackay's leg...and they won the game 4-1. Oh memories!
News Spurs News Spur s pocket huge amount after Dortmund win while London rivals scrap for crumbs. Love it
You are right Luke, and as Deedub has said we need to get used to it. Having said that IFABs rule book issued to all refs for this season has not been updated, and I didn't think the laws of the game could be reinterpreted mid-season. I do wonder if you would be quite so happy if the boot was on the other foot
Chelsea denied the possibility of freezing transfer ban during fatuous appeal... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47500863 ... Addendum: just seen I'm definitely second in breaking this.....still ****ing funny. Especially funny is their desire to be treated 'fairly' and in line with the rules........bit late for that, fellas.
All of the reporting of this law change was that it came into effect at the commencement of the 2019/20 season... https://www.sport24.co.za/Soccer/In...andball-rule-among-other-law-changes-20190305 If that's correct, then the officials have got it wrong and PSG have every right to feel very hard done by and Luke is peddling a wrong 'un...because what they decided and the methodology that they used isn't applicable until next season. It's common place for all sorts of law changes to be enacted and then come into force at a later date. You don't get to use the new one earlier just because it's there....even if it is into added time and PSG are an objectionable bunch of ****ers.
Absolutely, it was harsh. But if you're cynical, you'd say Kimpembe knew what he was doing, so once it hit his arm....
Deliberate insurance policy in case they got caught cheating. That lot cost about the same as our squad.
Not ITK regarding their squad, but what position does F**king Rubbish play ?? Is he a defender ?? MF ??
