I'm a tad surprised Liverpool only scored one goal via a penalty in the second half, I'd have thought they'd have gone on to bury Arsenal.
Some of you seem quite reasonable today. And I quite like your team. Bit Spursy today but just unlucky there's a better team each year really.
The penny is starting to drop with Gooners that picking up defenders on Gumtree is excellent in terms of limiting expenditure..........but less wonderful in terms of them being any good. Yes, they can keep out the might of Bate Borisov and Qarabag but are finding a season of PL football a little more vexing. They're now committed to winning the Unai Emery European Losers Shield or it's another summer of pouring through ebay, Gumtree and the like for some cheap and not so **** defenders. Meantime, the Gooners are preparing to post on Gumtree... "Free to collectors - A selection of old and run-down European defenders. Will deliver to genuine takers"
I didn't even know this word...A yank used it on mnsbc today. Told by one of our lot it was a Spurs own.... I still like it!
Why? They had the game won by HT, so in the 2nd half they saved energy kept the ball, and didn't use more gas than they needed to at this busy time, and the goons had nothing to really trouble them.
Actually think Wolves are a very good side compared to most in the league. They work their balls off, close down and can break. Their main risk today was letting four of the best guys in the league take shots from 20 yards out... got hurt once but could have been 3. Your energy looked suspect second half as you say... squad depth?
Agreed. I think they’ll end up having a very good season. Some decent results so far. Yep, we brought Lucas Moura on, but there was no one else who could make a difference. Injuries and fixture congestion finally took its toll today. Several players needed a rest, but we couldn’t give them it. Doesn’t look like it’ll get any easier, either. Desperately need a couple of players in January. Centre midfield is top priority.
I once unknowingly wore a Spurs bobble hat... think it was 1986... just moved to Sunderland... they thought it was a Newcastle hat and kicked the crap out of me... is that spursy though?
Know nothing about your finances but how much is tied up in the stadium? Have you been told there is money to spend... as in proper players... even youngsters ready to break in to first maybe? Obviously I don't follow your reserves etc
Depends on which day of the week it is. As it's Saturday the Daily Wail will tell you it's £63.2bn, although by Tuesday it'll merely be £800m, which they'll claim is more than twice over budget in spite of the fact from the outset we said it'd be £800m There's a few youngsters who could get minutes, with Oliver Skipp being the most obvious since he started against Burnley a couple of weeks ago, but so many of our top prospects are in positions we're already well-stocked in, for example we've got at least three wingers who have potential in our U23s but they're behind Son, Lucas and Lamela in the pecking order, hence two of them are out on loan this season
Because I don't think any team should step off the gas at any time, keep going, keep the winning momentum. Wondering whether we might see Liverpool fade a bit now. We shall see.
Wouldn't read too much into it tbh as we have been playing "cautious" football , compared to most recent seasons , all this year presumably to a) improve defensively b) to reduce the obvious burnout we have had in other Klopp seasons
If you need some reinforcements in January, you can have Xhaka, Elneny, Lichsteiner, Mustafi & Koscielny if you want? Swap deal. All four (I don't count Elneny as a football player) in exchange for a packet of hobnobs.
