Who doesn't look forward to a NLD, mate? ****ing love them, just hate losing them.

We got Burnley at home and Everton away either side of the game, so I'm hoping we have a strong side for it and rotate in the Burnley game.

What about you boys? Rotated side or coming to kill?

It's a packed schedule and I expect Pochettino to rest a lot of players, unfortunately. As such, I'm not looking forward to it.
I thought that we'd lose tonight. Away against a well rested side who could pick their best team, after playing less than 48 hours prior?
We'll see how things look closer to the game, though.

We don't really seem to get good results against you away from home in recent times, so I'm actually quite glad we're at The Emirates. I know your record at our place isn't great either, but it is a cup game and anything can happen.

We have Huddersfield Town at home on Saturday 8th December, Qarabag at home on Thursday 13th December (though I suspect Emery won't field a strong XI), Southampton away (where our record isn't amazing) on Sunday 16th and then we play you lot on Tuesday 18th December. Followed by a home fixture against Burnley in a Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

To be brutally honest, I don't have a clue what team Emery will field! <laugh> On the one hand, he will understand the importance of the north London derby. On the other hand, he can be quite pragmatic with his team selections.

Baring in mind we're playing you earlier that month as well.

Losing to Spurs always hurts and I'd like to think we are capable of winning both games. But if I was told that I could choose which game to win and which one to lose, I'd prefer to win the league game over the cup one, as I don't really care much for the League Cup.

Yeah fixtures are congested for both of us it seems. We got Barca away on the Wednesday, Burnley at 'home' on Saturday, you lot away on Tuesday and then away to Everton on Sunday.

Ideally I'd rather we rotated against Burnley and chucked a strong XI against you lot on the Tuesday, that then gives us 5-ish days to recover for the trip to Everton which should be long enough in theory.

To be honest if we can win just one of the games, I'd take it. Not really arsed which one but would just hate to lose both.
 
That last comment has made me think, so it's connundrum time.

Which would you peeps prefer:

Win the league by winning 32 games and losing 6, the losses being home and away to the chavs, l'arse and the spam,

Or coming second, but in the process beating the chavs, goons and the spam home and away.

Difficult eh?

I'm struggling, I know if I threw in one of the cups with the latter, I would go for that, but I havent.

Win the league. < no brainer >

Your second option is "small club" mentality.
Bragging rights don't pay the bills, nor keep the players.

League champs all day long.

Sucks to lose a derby but you’d take a league title any day of the week.

Losing a derby means the opposition has bragging rights for a week or so. Winning the league means you have bragging rights for about 10-12 months until the new champs are crowned.

You have the advantage of having been able to field a lot more
squad fringe players in EL games, than Spurs have in the CL.
IMHO this will be reflected in your starting XI.

I am more concerned that Pochettino will repeat his mistake of 2015
again (not acknowledging the psyche of the NLD) .

I think my earlier comments about winning cup trophies was premature. I t appears the new stadium is such a mess what with being late and costs escalating,we can only hope to finish in the top 4 for the CL cash and the hell with everything else....except removing fingers and beat up on a couple of CL teams if it's not too late this season...even though it looks too late!
 
Tonight's Friday Night Football on the BBC comes live from Ballymena, the origin of part of the Brian clan.

It'll be no surprise to anyone that been to Ballymena, it's a filthy night and raining cats and dogs and horses and Blue Whales and.....
