Had they beaten us and won today at home against Huddersfield, then the gap would be down to 10 points. Still massive, of course, but it would look a lot more attainable. Shame, eh?
Mourinho and United bottled it on Wednesday. I do wonder if they lost every game from now until the end of the season, whether the press would use the 'bottle' word.....? That's a rhetorical question. Of course they ****ing wouldn't.
To be fair to Guardiola, City's U23 side played last night and they all seem pretty young. He may have felt that playing in that game, which they lost late 1-0 to Swansea, was better for their development. Any youth player would probably only have sat on the bench, as both sides only used one sub, bizarrely.
Don't defend him, PNP! Lol. Even so, an U-18 player then? For me, there's no excuse for a Prem side, especially one the size of City, to not be able to select 7 subs. Even if you're not going to make it onto the pitch, surely just being selected for a first team squad provides a massive boost to a youngsters' confidence? It at the very least gives hope for the future.
He's trying to highlight the recent fouls on them that they feel have gone unpunished, in my opinion. A lot of those against us don't even get replays though, so I have little sympathy!
Zero sympathy from me, too. All clubs in the Prem suffer nasty injuries, moreso the top sides as many opposition players can be cynical knowing full well the best way to stop certain players is to take them out. He better get used to this otherwise before long he'll be fielding zero subs.
If United end up coming third, I wonder if a certain Gooner mod on this site will come out with statements such as "came third in a two-horse race" like he did when we came third the season that LCFC won the title? I wouldn't hold my breath.
Damn, have we missed the chance to reduce the deficit to 10 points? How careless. Whether the gap is 5 or 500 points, the outcome will be the same
I can only get Man U and later Arsenal on my box and frankly,I'd rather watch a tortoise cross the road!
I think he's right. Just because it's him talking and he usually talks a load of bollox doesn't mean this is wrong. It isn't good for football that the champions-elect of these leagues are so far ahead - and this may well be the case this time next year too. The same would be true if the league had only two teams who could win it such as in Spain.
