In the playoff S/F both teams have decided to turn the pitch into a Bus Terminus. After a stellar 0 - 0 in Huddersfield, the return leg is a riveting 0 - 0 in Sheffield.

Can we just promote Reading now, please?

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

When I was at university, a chapter of O Hood-Phillips 'Constitutional Law' or Megarry's 'Law of Real Property' would induce a great night's sleep if I was having troubles let getting off. This would do pretty well, too.

Promote Reading ??

I really should support that idea considering the Madejski is about 30 minutes from me. However, the current team are the most boring side I have seen for yonks, the stadium is the most soulless ever built and the fans are Neanderthal. Plus Madejski himself is a complete weirdo.

I desperately wanted Fulham. Stroll over London Bridge to Tower Hill, Quick Jaunt down the river. Lovely day out.

Huddersfield? I'll pass.

Given their new owners, if Reading are promoted I wonder if
Huawei (who have their UK HQ in Reading) will sponsor them.

Could have been tempted to put a few quid on Fulham.
Plenty of goals, in good form.....
What happened to them?

Playoffs seem to favour the more boring sides. Attacking sides always seem to feel the nerves and pressure more.

Would like to see Wednesday go up but either of these two is good with me. Huddersfield have a touch of the Bournemouths about them. Decent side playing good football with a good young manager.

I'd like to see Reading go up for no other reason than they came third, four points clear of the next team. Over 46 games in the toughest league, they deserve it.
Penalties tonight.

I've been before when a mate went to Huddersfield Poly. It's nicer than Stoke where I spent 4 years but it's not for me.

I liked Halifax when I went there a few times. Some great architecture . Loved the local stone buildings.

IFK Gothenburg's game against AIK in the Swedish top flight has been cancelled after claims of match fixing.
An AIK players has said that he was offered money to throw the game and threatened with violence if he didn't.
I wonder how often this happens and we don't hear about it?

There was certainly an element of this in the Italian lower leagues a few years ago, as an investigation in 2011-12 unearthed how plenty of clubs in Serie B and below were accepting bribes from betting rings to throw matches - and in one case a Cremonese player was found to have been drugging his teammates to ensure they lost games.

What a ****bag. I've seen a few games this season where the players certainly played like that had happened, though! <laugh>

There's always rumours about it in the non-leagues over here.
Must be very hard to catch, unless those involved get greedy or blab to too many people.

Funnily enough he's banned from football until at least 2020.

On the other hand, Beppe Signori's ban expired last year...although I don't believe anyone's been keen to employ him.

Keeping with Mediterranean match-fixing scandals, there was a major scandal in 2015 involving widespread match-fixing that went to the Greek football as it involved (among many, many others) president of the HFF and referee's association Giorgios Farris, president of the league's disciplinary committee Lefteris Zampras, as well as several club owners and directors - most notably Olympakos club president Evangelos Marinakis.

...the same Evangelos Marinakis who the Football League have deemed to be a Fit & Proper Person and allowed to take over Nottingham Forest.

Poor old Mesut. All is explained.
