Joey Barton fined by The FA for placing 1260 bets on matches in the past ten years. Admit it, you've been doing the mental arithmetic too...
In case I forget. A Merry Christmas to you all and I hope all your dreams come true in 2017. It's been fun.........
That's a very nice thought. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanza, Festive Festivus and have a great week to you all.
The game has settled a little now. I have to say the early flurry of activity from Crystal Palace has totally gone. Trevor Brooking about 30 seconds before Palace score.
Scoring has never been a problem for them. They are now joint 5th top scorers in the league with us, which is remarkable given the fact that we are 18 points ahead of them. It's the other end that has let them down. Fat Sam was an excellent choice and I can see them climbing the table quite rapidly under his guidance. Infinitely more adept manager than Pardew, whose ineptitude was matched only by his arrogance.
At which point Palace take an appalling penalty. They won't go down but Watford have it in them to turn games around and after that miss, it's definitely 'up for grabs'.
You can call me Trevor Brooking Watford's season is beginning to mirror last season in worrying fashion: get off to a great start, claim a few big scalps along the way, then fade badly across the festive period and end up in a relegation battle.
Just as the "Big Sam does it again" Narrative gets started in earnest, Troy Deeney makes it 1-1 I tried not to chuckle, I really did...

Mousers Firmino nicked for Drink/Drive on Xmas eve. (assuming guilt as these processes are invariably found). http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-merseyside-38436110 What the **** is the matter with these brainless, pampered losers? Enough money to employ a permanent chauffeur, but put lives at risk for nothing. Big fines are surely not the answer: if incarceration is not the answer then surely an extended period of community service - perhaps to be served at weekends?
Toure got done a short while ago too. It was a friend of mine's nephew who nicked him. The biggest fine in history, apparently. £54,000!...
But the money means little or nothing to the individual - less than half a weeks wages! And that money goes straight to the Exchequer. Surely there has to be a more practical solution in this day and age??
