We're not supposed to do that, which you should know, as a mod.
Mick is strongly against it, for some reason.

No, thanks. It's not hard to avoid insulting and abusing other members of the forum.
Threads just descend into meaningless bullshit when it's allowed, we've found.
You've seen what happens on your own board, I'm sure. Others have utterly gone because of it.

Aren't his joke stats for the above 3 in every 7 he attempts to tell (or is it 7 every 22) ??

In Watford Spurs v Hull Spurs there are six ex-Spurs players on the field (and one on the bench). Is this a record for ex-players of one team featuring in a subsequent PL match? Is there any other fixture that could exceed it? I doubt it.

You will get those games from time to time, so no real concern IMHO.
The Goons are excellent "bully boys" against the lesser teams, which
is great for getting a core number of points. But we know that the champions
will turn over several of the final PL top 5-6 on their way to the title.

37 attempts, 0 goals. Already 8 points from the top - with no chance of catching any of the top sides on 23 points, never mind all of them<wah>

Anyone thinking they've had a bad day in failing to beat the Champions? Think again.

I did feel sorry for you...and then remembered the 13 league titles, 7 fa cups, 3 league cups, the european cup winners cup, the 2 CL win, the other 2 CL finals, the 4 or 5 other fa cup finals and the 7 or 8 2nd place finishes in the league in the past 25 yrs...so stop your whining self pity <laugh>

You can have any PL champions you want, as long as they are in black.

On the opening day of this season we (Southampton) had seven ex-players playing in the Arsenal v Liverpool game. And five of them scored!

The idea of people other than United fans feeling sorry for United is quite amusing. You'll get about as much sympathy as Nigel Farage tripping outside a Momentum conference.

    The media
The media have a lot of "sympathy" for United. I guess it's part of their blanket brain failing that has them believing that United have an entitlement to be in the top four. They just can't get their heads around United being out of there, so come up with any excuse, make any allowance, that they would not extend to any other team. Can you imagine what TalkShite would be saying about, lets randomly choose Burnley, should they have had hundreds of millions of pounds windfall but failed to make the top four. They'd be calling them a joke and making various other similar remarks. Yet squandered hundreds of millions is exactly what United have done, yet they are continually been billed as being "in transition", rather than making any negative comment about how much their relative failure given the money spent.

And while I'm mentioning TalkShite I thought it would be safe to listen in to them just before the game when I was out on a walk (unfortunately my DAB can't pick up radio 5 any more). Durham was on and I thought he'd be ok since he wasn't doing his wum programme, but no, just before King was interviewed he linked to the interview by saying King is a player that Spurs fans "like to call a legend" and afterward said that King must be a legend because he won one league cup for us. It was classless, even for him (that is saying something).

  19. The media's bias - or probably desire to garner sales from the largest fan base - is a significant factor.
We see it every week and only yesterday in the Palace v Pool game. Reading reports you would imagine that Klopps lot were champions-elect - completely missing the fact that Palace were their equal for most of the game and on the wrong end of 2 very dodgy refereeing decisions.

    Unfortunately, this will never change......
