Another Costa goal in another game that he should be banned from. Liverpool have been stuck in their own half for most of it, since the break.
Literally out of nothing Chelsea score. Poor defending (as you did mention there may be earlier LDL!)
I thought that it was coming, to be honest. Chelsea were dominating possession and Liverpool were getting deeper and deeper.
They were pressing but they hadn't really opened Liverpool up. And Liverpool really mess up a great chance to get a third
Given Liverpool have played us, Arsenal and Chelsea all away already this season, 10 points is a good return of points after 5 games
Thought Liverpool let Chelsea off the hook there. Apart from a brief spell in the second half Chelsea were flat and not an effort at goal in open play from the 65th minute or so. Well done Liverpool.
The perceived wisdom was that Chelsea, United and Citeh would buy themselves new successful managers and teams and march on to success. None of them have solved their previous problems despite spending untold squillions. It's going to be another competitive season, lads.
Liverpool have promoted Everton to second! This fixture was always a no win/no lose situation for top 4 rivals. A draw would have been better, but Chelsea are a momentum team, so their defeat might be better in the long run. Liverpool can win at Chelsea and Arsenal, but lose at Burnley - and hopefully Swansea in their next away trip.
As we discovered, if you allow yourselves to go 0-2 down at home, it's bloody difficult trying to break down the inevitable 'all hands to the pump' defence that then faces you!
The Burnley game was a total freak result. Did you watch the game? Couldn't have been more one sided if the pitch was vertical.
Conceded 2 goals, scored 0 - that's all that matters. The former suggests defensive weakness, the latter could surely have been addressed in an hour and a half's football, whatever the rub of the green
