  1. Not entirely sure that I see Charlton as having done anything wrong here.....

An individual supporter vents on social media in a totally inappropriate manner, which he himself appears to admit.
Charlton send him the letter and arrange a one to one meeting to explain and hand over the season ticket. This occurs and he doesn't even receive the ABC as he is exceptionally apologetic.
Fan then posts the personal communication from Charlton on social media..... <doh>
Yes, the letter could be more comprehensive and they might have predicted it could go public , but it was a private communication and the individual himself could fill in the blanks.
Regardless of the wrongs or rights of the arguments going on at the club, it looks to me as if CAFC would have been well within their rights to just refuse the individual a season ticket. So their attitude looks to be very reasonable. If I was that fan I would be inclined to show rather more gratitude than to reignite the whole thing back on Twatter!

He posted the letter before he went to the meeting, I believe.
I don't think that they helped themselves in the wording of the correspondence.
It made them look bad and it was easy to misinterpret their intentions.

I still haven't forgiven Charlton beating us at the Valley in our second division season 4-1 with a former Spur scoring 3.....than the Spurs fan end being invaded by...wait for it.......Millwall fans. That was in the 70's of course!

Our U18s are currently 2-0 up against Southampton's.

I guess that's our fault as well...

Leicester looked shocking today. Vardy missed 3 simple chances and their defence was all over the place. Somethings don't change and another dodgy penalty for them nearly gave them an undeserved result.

Credit to Hull though. The players were right at it and the fans protested whilst still supporting the team. Results like this are what make football so great.

First thought: where the bloody hell was that Leicester team between February and May?
Second thought: wait...I can't be annoyed today, Jane Douglas is following me on Tumblr
third thought: our U18s beat Southampton's 4-1, so we're definitely going to get blamed for that...

Thanks RCL. My source is showing BT Sport 2 on both channels but I've found an Eastern European station with it on so apart from not understanding a word of the commentary it's pretty good.

David Moyes, best signing Sunderland have made in years. I've always thought that a Scot would be better coaching the Tyneside and Wearside teams. Could be a good signing for them.

I just Kante put my finger on what went wrong for Leicester today.

    Yep, I've grabbed my coat.

All seriousness that's an appalling result for them, apparently the first time a reigning champ has lost on opening day so that's going to be an embarrassing stat to have, while losing to a side that had to put a CM at CB due to umpteen injuries, has no permanent manager and also a supporters vs chairman war going on, really doesn't look good for them.

City didn't impress me vs Sunderland, they got lucky, I'm really intrigued to see if Pep is legit or a fraud. I'm personally not a fan as I feel he's been gifted the best managerial jobs in European football but unlike Barca and Bayern in their respective leagues, the Prem is a different beast, there's no easy game and tactically he can't just rely on his Messi/ Lewandowski/ Aguero (or luck!) to always win him the game.

Interesting season lies ahead me thinks.

The thing with Leicester is they've done it - against expectation, on the crest of a wave, adrenalin running and with a carefree attitude. Now it's different. What is a successful season for them? I don't think they know what it will be, but I think they know it's highly unlikely they'll win it again. So they're not going to be riding that wave again, motivation will be harder to find and games like today become tough to play. Top half will be a good finish for them.

They had better start winning very soon otherwise morale will sink very low after the headiness of last season. Desperation will set in and heavy defeats will follow.

So you're saying that if we want the poor man's Ginger Marks off of our board, they need to get one point from eight games?

    I can live with that...

Arsenal/Liverpool is the undoubted match of the opening fixtures and a difficult one to predict. Draw perhaps.

My thoughts went from "typical Liverpool" to " typical Arsenal"

    Cue the protests

Liverpool looked Brendan Rodgers levels of clueless in the first half. What a difference a bit of shouting at half time does.
