Goons going top...Bournemouth not in the game at all...but fun watching west ham fall apart and the United Chelsea match is unbelievably weird...great goalkeeping but some of the worst finishing ever...Matic
Matic proves with a single kick that modern footballers are overpaid, under skilled, overrated pretenders
It's looking increasingly likely that it's going to be down to us to stop Arsenal winning the league. If ever there was a greater incentive to finish above them, I'd like to hear it!
Yeah, but wouldn't it be great to win the league whilst, simultaneously, denying Arsenal! Pixie and IQ87 would spontaneously combust!
We will never win the title in my lifetime imo...am absolutely convinced of it so can not even imagine us doing it under any circumstances
How much did the chelsea and united players cost to produce this? Steve Mcmanaman thinks united have been great so I obviously know nothing
United 8 without a win in all competitions and chelsea's run of a win and 2 draws is their best prem run this season
"We will never win the title in my lifetime imo" Your spouse is simultaneously checking the PL table and whether your life insurance policies are up to date ...
He has accumulated them playing for the two teams I loath the most on God's good earth, but the player himself always comes across as a gentleman and consummate professional. 170 clean sheets - fair play Mr Cech
"You need a keeper who stops everything, an assassin in defense, a striker who doesn't miss, a genius in midfield, and 7 donkeys who run all day," or words to that effect. The thing is, I can't remember who said it, except I'm 90% sure he was an Italian star, describing the perfect team.
Nereo Rocco, who won a shedload of domestic and international trophies with Milan in three spells during the 60s and 70s. The exact quote is "a goalkeeper who saves everything, an assassin in defence, a genius in midfield, a goalscoring forward and seven donkeys who run all the time" - which, given Rocco is widely credited for/accused of creating catenaccio, certainly lives on in the bilge served up by the likes of Moronho and Van Galling for the past eighteen months.
Mertesacker has had a few iffy moments, but he's been a very good defender for us overall. He gets way more stick from rival fans than he actually deserves. There is a reason why he is picked every week, you know.
Just watched the Everton v Stoke game on Football First. Great entertainment, Stoke snatch it at the death and still Mark Hughes can't smile. Loosen up a bit Mark, that was a good win for your boys.
In fairness, I've seen a lot of comments from United fans saying that Rooney should be sold or that he has lost it, which is an opinion I share too. But if Mertesacker was genuinely that poor, Wenger would have gotten rid by now or he would have been on the bench with Paulista taking his place. Per certainly isn't the quickest defender, but he reads the game very well and that's why he's been a mainstay in the side.
