Fair play to West Ham, they defended well and in numbers and had more than their fair share of luck. More importantly from our point of view, I fear City are far too good to lose 2 consecutive PL games.

Well we've done you a favour as they'll be without two key players midweek and on the back of two big away losses.

Costa should have been off but that only papers over the cracks for Arsenal. Smart Arsenal fans are asking why they have conceded yet another goal off a set piece and why they've gone a 5th league game in a row without registering a single goal against us.

It's no secret we are good on secrets and that's our main outlay for goals as well as Hazard. Literally every single year without fail Arsenal concede at the Bridge via a set piece. Lessons aren't being learnt out there.

City are going to be well up for it next saturday...think they have walsall in the cup in midweek so that'll be their reserve team so their 1st team will be well rested ... can see them handing us out a real beating

To be fair, until the sending off it was a decent open game, which suits Arsenal. After that Arsenal were always going to find it tough so it was a big factor with Costa staying on the pitch, although you should've had a penalty before that so they can't complain too much. Costa was a bit ridiculous though, he could've had 3 bookings and a red by half time, as it was he just had the 1 yellow card to his name.

The problem for Arsenal, much like the problem for you guys has been recruitment. Sanchez and Hazard were key last season as were Giroud and Fabregas for half a season. They've all come back this season and struggled to make an impact leaving your sides looking pretty ordinary. It's exacerbating what were poor transfer windows for your teams. Arsenal look like they're where they are every season, not good enough to challenge but not bad enough to miss out on top 4, whilst you guys look much worse off compared to last season with a start that's similar to the one that got Di Matteo the boot. Not that we can talk, we need Son and N'jie to hit the ground running or we're weaker than last season.

From other teams I would throw Aguero and Rooney into that mix. There are a lot of top performers just not doing it so far this season.

No Kompany or Silva makes a big difference. Even with £65M of central defenders, they don't look solid without Kompany's experience and Silva makes them tick. They don't have another player who does the same job. They don't open teams up in the same way. There is nobody to play those clever passes into the channels that Aguero thrives on. Although they have pace which could hurt Spurs next week, the two games this week show that they are not so effective against well organised teams without Silva's passing.

You beat me to this, CK. Listen to the fake harp music and imagine the Beeb in any possible world writing a similar piece about Spurs in a similar situation. I can’t, and it’s particularly clear since we just had four games filled with silver linings and no wins. We outplayed each team with the possible exception of Stoke, but didn’t get three points. All I heard was disappointing, Pochettino under pressure, etc.

Now Liverpool top off a series of bad performances with a 1-1 draw at home versus Norwich and we have this. My favorite part was explaining how much improvement there’s been because they had more touches in the final third versus Norwich at home than they did against Man U at Old Trafford.

Lawrenson does it again! Did anyone hear is sly dig at Spurs on MOTD2??

    <laugh>

I admire him for his constant and consistent work at keeping Liverpool hopes alive, even when the fans are wishing Brendan gone.

Maybe Jenas will do the same for us in future.

It was a picture of Son looking shattered on the bench after coming off. Someone said that is how you want your subs to look and Lawrenson chimed in with he's probably just realised he's signed for Spurs.

Another example of obvious bias at the BBC: our 48-pass goal against QPR last season was dismissed because the pundits said QPR were crap, but they were all having to change their trousers after Man Utd's 44-pass goal against Southampton even though tier defending was just as non-existent.

    My favourite Lawro article: www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mark-lawrenson-liverpool-fc-summer-7460618?

It was ridiculous at the time but now it just reads like a satire piece.

"Spending £100million for the first time in the club’s history is a huge statement.

I know some will point to the splurge from Tottenham after they sold Gareth Bale last summer as cause for concern but Liverpool’s situation is different." - Too true, Liverpool's situation was very different. They had a huge net spend and a much bigger wage bill yet the result was even worse <laugh>

"He(Markovic) could quite easily have gone to Chelsea but he can see the brand of attacking football here at Liverpool.

The player will have seen that and it will have been the biggest attraction for him because he knows he will flourish in this team.

At just 20 he fits the bill and his flexibility means he will thrive in the fluid system of football here." - It finishes on a great line but the whole quote's a riot start to finish <laugh>

"It wasn’t publicised massively at the time but the buyout clause for Suarez was actually a very shrewd bit of business." - Yeah, whoever thought to give Suarez a release clause can't walk into a bar around Anfield without getting bought drinks for that genius idea! <laugh>

"His(Rodgers) man management skills are excellent." - Great analysis at the start of the season where he managed to alienate his captain and piss off his best player <laugh>

Just for those having a bit of a giggle at the Costa/Gabriel debacle, here's the prequel:

Which one's the cheat, again? Both pricks, as far as I can see.
Alderweireld looking bored by it all.

I shudder to think what would happen to HIAG if he were to read this. He could die laughing. You might be found guilty of manslaughter YV.
