Hart is a top keeper, I won't have anyone say otherwise. He did everything brilliantly in both legs with a defence all over the place and against arguably the best attack in the World. Disappointed with how reserved Neville was in his praise of him, normally there's an unbearable English bias from the commentators and pundits in the CL but the opposite was true of Neville tonight, I thought he let himself down which is a shame as he's one of the few decent ones out there.

This amused me from the BBC gossip

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, 25, has been told to stay at the European champions by Wales manager Chris Coleman.

I'm sure Coleman isn't the person listens to, to develop his career.

Chelsea are claiming that they have had an "abnormally low" number of two penalties awarded to them this season whilst Arsenal and City have had seven each. If two is "abnormally low" that must mean that the zero penalties we were awarded a few seasons ago was absolutely disgraceful and was due to a conspiracy between the media and the referees.:emoticon-0116-evilg

This claim is obvious bollocks and clearly an attempt to influence referees. There are about 75 penalties each year on average so the most likely number is 4 for a season so having 2 with a quarter of the season to go is perfectly normal. In fact more than half the league (11 clubs) have two or fewer currently.

Bale got pulled from a couple of friendlies last year by Factitious, so there's no difference.

To be fair the better teams do tend to get more penalties and Chelsea are one of the best attacking sides in the league at the moment. Should they have had more? Yes but the same can be said of a lot of sides and this is the first season they haven't got their due so they're stamping their feet and crying. Didn't they get a ridiculous penalty against West Brom last season where either Ramires, or Oscar dived? There was also the Hazard one against us where he dived and got Kaboul sent off, they've had more than enough luck.

I do find it ridiculous that they included the Vertonghen handball in their list too, it's not even close to being a penalty and if it was then they got away with the exact same thing against Liverpool in the League Cup semi.

I mean it's a ridiculous situation overall really, what on Earth are they hoping to achieve with their ones sided article on the site? Totally unprofessional which is probably to be expected from a club that lacks class at every level.

The table on their website stops in 2009/10. By coincidence they only got 2 penalties in 2008/09. If the data shows anything it is that Chelsea usually get an above average number of penalties but I can't be bothered to test if this is 'abnormal'.

They should face disrepute charges. They've clearly making dodgy suggestions about the officials.
Maybe they should review their policy of diving all over the place and feigning injuries constantly?

It's a totally absurd and illogical complaint anyway.

There is no pattern to the committing of fouls and penalties being awarded. There are so many variables and no constants. There are certain factors which might make penalty awards marginally more likely, but those are still random. Consequently, there can be no normal or abnormal number of penalties, which should be awarded to any particular team.

They should face a disrepute charge because they are either a) attempting to put pressure on refs to award pens in their favour or b) suggesting that there is some sort of entitlement or quota for a certain number of pens.

Either suggestion brings the game into disrepute.

Mourinho is becoming like The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf. If and when there is a genuine injustice against The Chavs, nobody will listen.

Yarmolenko is a player I'd love to see down the right - and he's only got a year left on his contract, Levy!

Yarmolenko on the right and Konoplyanka on the left? I'd be down with that.

I thought I was looking at the Spurs defence until I realised we don't play in blue shirts.
We used to have a fighting cockrell on our shirts. He looks very worn out these days!

City are strolling to a win after the ref sent off the wrong player. Swarbrick will get some stick for that.
Berahino with West Brom's only chance, hitting the bar from close range with a header from a corner.
Bony opens his account for them and they narrow the gap to Chelsea to three points. They should beat Hull easily tomorrow, though.

Sunderland lose their first game under their genius manager with the incredible CV. Not even Stephen Fletcher could save them from defeat.
