Because at the time there were no CRB checks and it was as a result of his actions CRB/DBI checks came in. I doubt just being accused would be picked up anyway. Chances are if you've never been arrested, even CRB checks wouldnt pick that up. I've recently been on "Safer Recruitment" training and found it incredibly disturbing. Worse than watching livpl tbh that bad.

Stevenage captain Ronnie Henry has accused Dagenham and Redbridge midfielder Joss Labadie of biting him during Saturday’s meeting between the two sides.

He's (Henry) not in a good situation, he's in the treatment room and he's suffered quite a nasty injury.
"Ronnie was in a state of shock, you don't go on a football pitch expecting to lose your finger and Ronnie was horrified by what has gone on because it's a football match and he's nearly lost his finger."
Asked what he would do if one of his players was found to have bitten another player, Daggers manager Wayne Burnett said: “There will certainly be an internal investigation and it will be dealt with in-house, but until I actually know the facts I won’t comment on them.”

Nearly lost a finger?! Jesus... puts Defoe & Suarez's nibble in comparison <yikes>

A form of CRB checks did exist, they just weren't that good. There was uproar about him working in a school despite the school knowing after carrying out these checks.

CRB / DBS only tells you the person has never been caught before, it doesn't tell you they are not that way in kind or that they haven't or won't commit that sort of crime.

The school knew..woah! From police interviews of past offenders I heard I think people's general attitude to underage sex was more leniant when it came to offenders they knew.

CRB / DBS checks are **** really. As I said above, they only tell you if someone has been caught.

I organise community events, one of which is a Christmas event with a grotto. We can't get a DBS check for Santa, we're not allowed because it's not a regular job. How many Santa's do you know that regularly work throughout the year? <laugh>

All the security is place into precautionary procedures. Parent or guardian must be present and Santa must have a assistant too.

Ridiculous world we live in.

Yeh that's what I was saying as well. Unless you've been caught the CRB/DBS is a waste of paper.

volunteers in school also dont need it as long as they work less than a certain number of days. That's alright then! All bcos of paperwork backlogs with huge number of checks that's why.

Trebs aint really sure about Van Gaal yet but Telegraph hack Jason Burt is.

So the last 6 months is airbrushed out of history and the season starts tomorrow.<laugh>

the fck I'm reading all of that <laugh> but the bit about something beginning to click is mental. Not bcos it's untrue but bcos every sane United fan knew he was picking the wrong team and formation. He's made the who thing much harder than it needed to be and only done so now bcos of injury and suspensions! Much like Rogers imo who only got livpl to click bcos Johnson and Gerrard became injured and he went with what most had been calling for earlier. Neither are bad managers, just stubborn and lucky.

Ssshhh, they don`t like to admit he lucked in, they like to think he had some kind of plan that contained coming from behind in the second half of the season :bandit:

Search our forum for [HASHTAG]#luckedout[/HASHTAG] and you'll see the whole forum knows that Rodgers lucked out (not lucked in ffs) <whistle>

Its one of the longest eulogies ever about a Utd manager I've seen, even Fergie never got as many column inches in a single article.<laugh>
