Ignoring all the petty school yard bickering about who did what to whom and the stupid conspiracy theories.

Bottom line is that Barne's tackle was absolutely horrendous and the authorities should be doing everything in their power to eradicate all tackles like that, from the game.

Instead they do nothing, just to back up one of the worst refereeing performances I've ever seen.

To right it was an horrific tackle and deserved punishment, but having agreed with your opinion of it is it ok to discuss other similar tackles Andy?
This convo has covered the tackle, the FA response, Mourinho's response, similar tackles and the ineptitude of the FA, can't see why you want to focus solely on the one incident and why you'd think anyone condones it though mate.

You can see his leg actually bend on the replay. It was a bad one and he was lucky imo.

Think most people agree Barnes should of got a 3 game ban or similar as a deterrent. The FA have missed a chance (but they are ****ing useless anyway) and some are turning it into a slagging match about managers which misses the point!

Look at a slo-mo of an ice skater falling over and see their leg 'bend' in exactly the same way. Slow motion can show the body bending in all sorts of unharmful ways - look at Ronaldo's left leg here - ankle goes over leg bends in much the same way as you claim the tackle did to Matic's leg

Of course it is, I don't want to focus on just that tackle, I want to see as few of those type of tackles as is humanly possible in a contact sport, hence my disappointment with the FA not doing anything and some folk turning the debate into some inter club slagging match.

Ok, but when the tackle you refer to has been discussed in full and we're all in agreement it was bad and deserved retro punishment we might want to discuss others that went unpunished that involved our players.

As an example Robert Huth stamped on Suarez's chest and "could" have done him serious damage, another was Mirelles's thigh high studs up on Suarez's thigh, both of those were seen by the ref and there was no retro punishment and those didn't involve Chelsea or Utd, then there's the one Suarez got away with at Goodison when the Blues player could have ended up with a broken ankle.

Its all relevant and points to the FA and referees not doing their job properly which is part and parcel of the problem and the discussion.

The **** does that prove? <laugh>
Ice skaters dont have the weight of a 14 stone footballer wearing metal studs on their leg when they fall over <doh>
And I know Matic might be supple, but figure skaters border on contortionist levels of flexibility, its a ridiculous comparison.

Poor example PMK, if you watch that in slow-mo (it`s on here somewhere) then Huth never puts any weight at all on that foot, he couldn`t put the foot down anywhere esle and so hops on his left foot (the right knee remains bent at all times) to make sure he doesn`t hurt Suarez.
