  • Premier League

  • Champions League

  • FA Cup

  • League Cup

  • As much as Everton and Spurs!

whats this? tobes on... a football forum... a fan's site... talking about objectivity???

yer having a larf mate..

the whole bleeding point of this site is to waffle on about stuff with zero objectivity to score points.

100% and sadly, you actually have to point it out to him. Given he's a point scorer type poster you'd think he'd cop that.

Not that I condemn Tobes for his antics, I condemn him for believing his own bullshit :D

you lot want your heads examined.

the 5th round is the last 16 of this FA cup. when we get down to this level the prem clubs who want to throw it and get out have done so and whats left are the teams who've bothered to pay a strong side (and of course those who've got a bit of luck

nobody is saying they are all that BUT they all give a bollox. Personally at this point is a home draw i want nothing else.

1. Crystal Palace
2. Cambridge United or Manchester United
3. Blackburn Rovers
4. Bradford City
5. Derby County
6. Preston North End or Sheffield United
7. West Bromwich Albion
8. Aston Villa
9. Reading
10. Liverpool or Bolton Wanderers
11. Leicester City
12. Arsenal
13. Rochdale or Stoke City
14. Sunderland or Fulham
15. West Ham United
16. Middlesbrough

I make that 10 prem teams left os if you say 9/15 that means LFC or any other prem team has a 60% chance of drawing another prem team.

yes, yes fine utd arsenal and LFC are the big names left in but I only see two clubs i'd really accuse of floating in there, reading who did cardiff and maybe derby

Cambridge are muck but were brave, i don't expect them to stay in
Blackburn did for swansea
Bradford are muck but did for cheslea
Sheef utd are cup specialists niow
boro did for city.

So all in all... just give me a home tie and i'll be very very happy.

look for no 10 to come out first and i'll be very happy.

I take you must have won the replay at Bolton then? I must have missed it........

It just seems wrong that the best weekend the FA Cup has had in years will culminate in the 5th round draw taking place on The One Show.

I'll pass, the first installment was sleep inducing

Why lie? You're nailed on to watch.

Well if you're going to pretend not to watch I guess you'll have nothing [HASHTAG]#objective[/HASHTAG] to say about the game and we won't hear from you that day <ok>

dead right

If this FA cup draw had been sunday night or even saturday after the big shcoks there would have been record viewings.

Right now i seriously expect that nobody will watch and will just pick it up after

................................................

a serious point.

the media and the bbc (over the weekend especially via lineker even on graham bloody norton show) can WHINE and MOAN on about killing the magic of the cup but when they take the decision to take a traditional part of the FA cup I for one loved to see and then move it onto a nothing bbc show thats not sports related in the slightest and bury it where I do not know when it'll take place in the hour this show is on....

well <applause>

well done bbc.

I for one would MUCH prefer if the traditions evolved into the modern world not get buried under thoughtlessness.

I would rather we all knew that:

1. the FA cup is a whole weekend affair now (ok fine games on friday (stupid), games on monday (again no point)
2. The Saturday 3pm kick off slot is for most games
3. Sunday at say I dunno between a 2pm match and a 4pm match the draw is held...
4. Somebody REAL draws the balls, not some nobody, i don't want it held at a ground like Wimbledon for "atmosphere" either. Get it done in a proper setting where it can be an event i can tune into.

It is utter thoughtlessness for the cup that the bbc have done this to the draw. you might as well move the final so that songs of praise can have its regualr slot and then play some stupid rap song before it penned on the voice uk (or x factor) rather than abide with me.

I think enoughs enough now... don't whine and bleat and moan about how special it should be then do this crap.

well tobes pointed that out a good while back.

really we were picke dup early for all and sundry after last year and have bored mostly (last 10 improved no question) I doubt that lfc will be on all that much in the run in.

I think super sundays around europa will still be dominated by title push so I can see many many motd2 and streaming events for us coming up.

If you're talking about going back to tradition.

The draws were always held on a Monday lunchtime and aired on the radio, not TV. Of course the internet didn't exist, so it'd be everyone huddled round a crappy transistor radio on your lunchbreak. That's the magic of the Cup.

As for tonight, with BT having the fixture this evening it's left the Beeb with a problem of how to schedule the draw for terrestrial TV. Cramming it into the One Show is a massive error though. Either give it a stand alone slot or don't bother.
