Nope, my point was just that Valdes is ****. Everything else was in response to Tobes' [HASHTAG]#objective[/HASHTAG] opinion of a game he only saw a few seconds of while reading the Liverpool board and watching Stoke play better than Everton.
BTW there was another discussion about what Everton could realistically expect this season. We can now add Stoke to the list of teams that are nailed on to finish above Everton so 9th is now their best possible outcome (requiring West Ham to collapse, and Swansea and Newcastle to continue to decline)

i think given they've nothing to play for some would take 9th... first target is 40 points... oh i'm sure some think the europe will be possible i guess but i don't think lfc are good enough to play that let alone everton as i thought in august they'd a good side but they've blown it...

I for one wasn't that keen on Valdes. Is he better than Migs? Yes.
But spending £100k a on a keeper who is not fully fit and still has the same fundamental flaws as our existing keeper is a waste of money.

I'd have taken Valdes as he's an improvement on Mig in the short term but wouldn't have been my first choixe
I think we can all agree two things
1. Valdes is far better than mingolet
2. Seeing an ex star playing kids in a virtually empty ground was very strange

So the thread was clearly started after it became apparent that Valdes was going to United not Liverpool. Obviously the OP was disappointed that Liverpool weren't signing him but unsurprisingly the majority suddenly thought he was crap.
In the second link which was started when Valdes was supposedly going to Liverpool there is enough praise for him.
You might argue that people's opinions weren't swayed by his choice of club but using Skylarker as an example, his view after United came in for Valdes was that "Valdes is ****e" and "Valdes made a fortune being a statue for Barcalona. The guy is a terrible keeper these days" (first link) but when he was reported to be signing a contract with Liverpool Skylarker's opinion was "Very good signing if it happens."
You took the time to dig out some commentary about how well Valdes had done in La Liga during the first half of the 2013/14 season.
