He was poor but in a game like that one lad who never played watching 22 pros was never gonna work <laugh>

We badly need a striker. Sterling is not one. Neither is balotelli :D

Ming was excellent last night. Every bit as good as his compatriot. If he can keep up that sort of form I'd not take Valdes over him at all.

Jose Mourinho fined £25,000 for referee 'campaign' comments

So the FA decided not to punish him then <doh>

"the Chelsea boss, who was warned about his future conduct, was cleared of implying bias by referees"

Why warn him if you didn't hear what he said? Why clear him if you heard what he said? <doh> <doh> <doh>

    • Oliver to make Costa decision
      Football

      Posted at13:39

Referee Michael Oliver will make the decision on whether Diego Costa should be charged with violent conduct over his two apparent stamps during Chelsea's 1-0 win against Liverpool in the Capital One Cup.

The FA has confirmed it is aware of the controversy at the match and is waiting for Oliver's report.

Oliver will be asked by the FA whether he or any of the officials saw the incident. If he did not, he will be asked to judge from video replays whether either of the incidents were straight red-card offences.

If the referee believes either was a red-card offence, the Spain international will be charged with violent conduct and dealt with under the fast-track system.

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo given two-match ban after red card

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a two-match ban after his sending-off for kicking out at Cordoba defender Edimar on Saturday. The forward, 29, will miss the next two La Liga games against Real Sociedad and Sevilla but will be available for the derby against Atletico Madrid.

    That's ****ing lucky isn't it? :emoticon-0141-whew:

So that's just Ronaldo and Rooney in the history of football who got bans for violent attacks actually reduced?

Was it a straight red for violent conduct?

It was a straight red for punching, kicking and slapping the opponent.

Apparently that doesn't count as violent conduct though.

Yup agreed. Just needs to keep doing that on a regular basis. Still nervous as hell with the ball at his feet though <laugh>

was a moment when can had the ball about 10 yards from half way line he kicked it back to Mig who kicked it to about where Can was standing again... But he'd run back a further 15 yards so we actaully ended further back than where we started and still lost the ball!
