Just to correct bodanki (the chav DR). Jose was turned down by United. It hurts him still to this day. He may say otherwise but we all know jose is a world class bullshitter.

Lucky united i guess. Jose wants to burn chelseas 'acadamy' to the ground. Unacceptable at a proper club. #nofuture

And to liverpool fans crying about losing players to injury. We've had 43. Dont mention them ever again. Thanks. <hugs>

United were in no place to reject anyone. I do not believe United approached him or Mourinho wanted to go there, Fergie picked Moyes and Chelsea chose Mourinho way before it was announced.

He is just bitter United went for Moyes on SAF's recommendation instead of a real manager.

Yeah, but they were all useless to begin with, so no loss anyway.

Merry Christmas- I'm off now.

<cheers>

I do find our injuries excuse a tad cringe worthy tbh. We've not had that many compared to others, we've just had one major one that appears to have ****ed up our season.

What I find rather amusing is seeing Arsenal and in-particular Wenger getting stick for not buying a CB leaving them short and unable to adequately cover the CB positions as a result. Yet we've done almost the same thing with our attacking department and complain about the single injury <laugh>

Not really, you DID buy 2 strikers in the summer, you just bought a back up striker (Lambert) which is fair enough, and a lazy douchebag in Balotelli.
You bought personnel, just the wrong personnel, but atleast Rodgers tried. Wenger and Van Gaal didnt even try to sign a CB, when they both so desperately needed one.

But those two players were so glaringly the wrong personnel so we may as well not bothered.

That's besides the point anyway. My point is, I see a lot of fellow Liverpool fans partially blaming injuries for our troubles when in reality, we've only really had one problem injury. Sure, we've had other injuries too but nothing we couldn't cope with. The one injury we've struggled with is Danny Sturridge and we've got three other strikers on our books. Hence me saying I find that excuse a bit cringe worthy, it's our own fault much like with Arsena; /Wenger.

Well yeah....tbh I was one of the people who said Mario was worth a punt for that money, because £16m is cheap these days for a supposedly decent striker.
I remembered the Mario that was at City.....flashes of raw skill that needed smoothing out and to be more consistent. His time in Italy seems to have made him a £16m lamp post.

Still think you would have been better off with Remy.
Would have cost more to insure, but he was 6m cheaper than Mario, so that would have offset the cost and then some.

Remy would've been about as useful as Balotelli for us with the amount of time he's spent on the physio's table.

I said that at the time. He was cheap enough to make the risk equivalent to that of Mario (£16m) or Bony (£20m-£25m) since if either of those failed we stood to lose around £8m on either of them anyway. Of course, Remy got injured too so wouldn't have helped us any more during that time.

I never rated Mario at City either. There were flashes of brilliance but far too little to justify the cost. As as been claimed before, he's a expensive penalty taker!

He has played 6 games (3 starts) and scored 2 goals.....still more league goals than Balotelli....in half the appearances.
