I love the term "transition", i wonder which one player City or Chelsea would have to sell to claim they were in transition
Oh, and they lost their 2nd best player for "almost all the season" when we are not even at the half way stage yet. Mind you, with his glass legs it is probably true.

From the guy who didn't make a single appearance in 2013/14 because we were so high <laugh>

If we can put a few wins together over the holidays and open a gap over Everton, that's you done for this season on not606 <ok>

I really despise Mourinho but the man does build a solid and tactically disciplined team. As I grow older, I start to appreciate that side of the game and we're not going to win much until Rodgers gets in some help to sort the defence out. .

When he was at Benfica, I was begging for us to be interested in Matic - this guy is the level of quality we require at DM.

I love the way deluded kopites like you think the loss of one player makes them the only victims of injuries in the division

We've had our best defender out for 3 months, we went the first 6 weeks of the season without Barkley, we've lost Mirallas twice, McCarthy's been out for weeks. We've had spells without Coleman, Baines, Jags, Distin and Barry. Moaning about it? No, as you just have to get on with it, every team has injuries.

The fact that you sold Suarez is negated by the fact that you spent the bounty plus another £45m on replacements. But of course you're now in 'transition' <laugh> Amazing how gullible tools like you will lap this s**t up from the blarney master Todgers, you lot would us believe that you've been in 'transition' since the fat waiter left <laugh>

Shame that it hasn't quite dawned on you that you're now a side that is seemingly nothing without Sturridge, despite the blarney master having spent £220m in the last 2 1/2 years....I think it's brilliant that you're prepared to overlook this simple fact, as it means that the clown is more likely to retain his position and will no doubt piss another fortune down the grid.

    I'd say thats a simplification.
Mourinho proved he can do big things on a small budget at Porto.
He also pulls off great deals (Selling Luiz for £50m! Swapping Ibrahimovic for Eto'o and 46m whilst at Milan!!)

Because he is a great manager, the big clubs are the ones who come in for him, and the big clubs are, as a by product, also the richest clubs.

He did blame his failure to win the PL last season on his playing staff though, which was rather churlish of him.
If he's so great a coach, shouldn't he have got the most out of them? They might not have been quite what he would have chosen, but they were hardly a bad bunch.
He might have done well at Porto, but there's been little evidence since of his ability without the cash.

You should work for the media, you have that knack of taking what someone says and replacing it with your own version and then attacking that.
    Eh.. Mr Straw man.

Rodgers f**ed up the transfers yes but also, our whole way of playing had to change due to new players and 50+ goal scorers being missing from the team this year. This season was always going to be a lesser season after last season, we knew that, the transfers wer the wrong ones, mainly Lovren and Badon, had we actually got in some quality for those two positions then.. so with that in mind Rodgers had to work on changing it while making use of the new guys too.

I think had he got those two transfers right we'd be in the top 4. Fine margins

    What's martinez excuse? :D

    Why? Who bought those players?

Wouldn't it have been an idea to buy players that fitted the system that was working last season?

    Just a thought like..............

    Such ****ing limited thinking!

So come on dumbass tell us just who you would have bought that would have replaced Suarez in the system that we were playing last season?

It was because of the loss of Suarez that essential parts of the system had to change so there would have been no pont in buying players to fit that system!!!!

    Nor will there ever be.
He isnt going to move to a broke club now is he?
When clubs like Chelsea, Madrid, Man United, PSG, City etc would be falling over themselves to get him were he available and they in need of a manager.

Last season we had a decent squad, but we had no goal scorer.
Look at the two teams who finished above us last season, what did they have that we didnt? Goal scorers.....

City had Aguero, you had Suarez......we had...................

    Torres!!!

Well it was Sanchez we'd targeted wasn't it and you can see why, he has similar qualities and attributes to Suarez. It would never have been like for like but he would've been an ideal signing, we ****ed up massively missing out on him as he certainly would've allowed us to keep using the same formation.

    Haha true.

But spending money doesn't mean you'll instantly win trophies. Look at us for an example.

The man is a winner - a winner at all costs. And despite spending a lot of money, he does create solid teams which are hard to beat.

I think we need to develop a ruthlessness about our team where we have players who don't care who they upset, as long as they get the job done.

This is true, but, when he's approaching the end of his career I'd like to see Mourinho go back to Porto or another small, low budget team (not that Porto are that - they are when compare to the truly big European sides) and tear it up. Of course he won't though and will probably opt for a swan song at Real Madrid to win the champion's league for the 19th time.

    Lacazette*

Lacazette wanted to stay in Lyon for another year to develop further.

Lavezzi is inconsistent but I wouldn't have said no to him. Cavani/Benzema would been excellent but unrealistic options (considering our wage structure).

I am not disagreeing on the transfer thing at all, a f**up was made, even before Badon kicked a ball I knew he was just not the right player to replace Suarez. Lovren I knew nothing of before we signed him, never watched Southampton 2 games apart

Also, a manager will make mistakes throughout a season, tactically and so on. These now look worse because of all else going wrong.

Who can blame him for playing to Suarez and Sturridge strengths? when they were available..
Now they are not, that left us holding a spear without a tip as it were, in otherwords, useless, and that proved correct this season.

You bleat a bit about Rodgers lucking into things with Suarez last season, but lets look at the tactical genius of Maureen at madrid who had Ronaldo amongst an array of other stars and he didn't manage to "luck" into great football. Madrid were f**ing dour under Maureen. I hate dour football when you have a squad containing some of the worlds best players including the world's best attacking player
Basically because Rodgers had the staff to operate his plan, you called it luck? Nah, Maureen had some great players and bags of quality and didn't know how to milk it at Madrid.

Maybe like Maureen, Rodgers needs 200m to spend every summer to make his plan work<laugh> Mind you, Maureen does pick great signings, unlike our Brendan, taught Rodgers everything Rodgers knows, not everything Maureen knows :D, in saying that, it's easier to buy and create a defensive team than build an attacking free flowing football team I reckon
