Louis van Gaal began his press conference by insisting that he didn't think the win over Liverpool "had a big influence" on his team. "The team can improve more but I don't think it was a great surprise that we won," he added.

I doubt many people were surprised by it. You're on a roll and we're in a hole, so although we would all have hoped to do better none of us were taken aback by the fact that you won.
I presume you're trying to read something into what Van Gaal has said but it's all just meaningless managerspeak after all.

Incidentally, if Sterling had had his boots on the right feet then it could have been quite different, so I wouldn't get too smug just yet if I were you.

Gets funnier every time <laugh>

I assume you're referring to your usual inability to come up with a cogent response?
It is amusing, yes.

Nope. The hilarious claim that if so and so had his shooting boots. I know its the season for crackers and all that but just stop ffs <laugh>

If we had our shooting boots and a different manager last season we would have won the league with a 100% record <ok>

And if fish had wings they'd be birds.....

Do try and take note of what's been said to you. I'm not saying "if..." to try and claim we were unlucky or that it's somehow an unjust reflection of the game. Utd deserved to win, no doubt. I'm simply pointing out that you shouldn't get too carried away with your big victory because your defence was taken apart at times on the approach play but our strike force was toothless. You may not be so lucky against a side that can actually find the net.
But, you go ahead and build yourself up into imaginary world-beaters if that turns you on, just don't be baffled when you start to ship a few.

There's no doubt we will ship a few, but thankfully we haven't conceded more than 1 a game since October and our defence (despite being slated constantly) must be doing something right, whether it's Carrick coming back or De Gea's rich form or our possession football at times. We've conceded the 4th best number of goals with 17 while Chelsea 13, City 14, Saints 13.

I do question LVG's team selections at times as I believe the key to protecting our fragile back line (until we strengthen it) is keeping the ball away from them <laugh> Our best performances have been in games where we've held great possession. The starting line up in those games have been different to our last two. If we play to our strengths in midfield and attack we minimise the pressure on our defence or at the very least I'm confident we can outscore the opposition.

Our defensive injury crisis wont carry on forever and we have a transfer window coming up in 12 days.

You'll get a reality check at some point, as you really aren't that good mate

UIR may make forthright comments about United, but I don't see what he's said there that requires a realty check. He is spot on there. And fwiw we are as good as 3rd best in the league right now.

Unlikely. We already had it and have adapted accordingly.

Not really that good <laugh>. I would like to see any sode cope with 43 seperate injuries in under half a season. The vast majority would be staring at relegation.

Weve had one bad game in our last 10. We won it. The other side didnt do much themselves.

Or best of a bad bunch!

You lot just want your balls licked when in reality you know cos we all know you are light years off where you need to be

Its as if tge leicester game didnt happen. That was our reality check. Weve lost once since, to city away, with 10 men. Along the way we've played this seasons top 5, last seasons top 4 and won 6 in a row. On one occasion we fielded our best side. Hull didnt get a sniff.

Some call us lucky. How on earth having our injury list and not beint able to field anything close to our best side is lucky, i have no idea.

At least we know one thing. We are certainly making waves. We were incredibly lucky under fergie too. Despite every single one of our players being absolute ****e and fergie being useless. Its all too familiar <ok>

Were demonstrating incredible squad quality and depth just now. We will add to it before next season start. We have the best manager in the league for this kind of job (building us back up, jose is the leagues best manager) and we are a side drenched in confidence (which stems from tye manager, not some false confidence from being carried by one large toothed chap).

We've lost once in our last 11 games, we've only conceded more than one goal once in those games and we didn't lose then either. We have depth in our squad and our performances have ranged from dominating possession to grinding out wins. We're not brilliant but I look back and think we've done what any fan would wish for given the injuries we've had. Still a long way to go, I do hope we buy a decent CB in January, but either way I'm confident of how we're progressing.

Best of it is van gaal isnt happy. The guys a perfectionist. In his presser today he said he spoke with Fergie, who said everything was great and tge run was fantastic. Van gaal said no, the performances were not good enough. Yet.

Oh and di maria on the bench, falcao to start, rojo training and...... Wait for it.....

Afro is ill!!
