He's beginning to get to that age where he will slow down- and although his game isn't all about pace- it is one of his biggest attributes and he won't be nearly as deadly without it.
The amount of money that United would have to pay to bring back an aging superstar would be laughable. He'd improve them, but would prove to be a major burden financially on them.

We're definitely also rans but the gap between us will be interesting and maybe an indication if panic buys do work sometimes.
As for the smileys, most people don't need to see them to get your drift but agree that you have to gauge your audience as to when you need to use them. They can be an abuse-stopper

On the Younited board they were saying they could get him if they payed him £500k pw. After adding in Falcao, Rooney, and Shaw... that 4some together would be earning £75mill per year... for just four players. (based on most common estimates of salary)
75million for just 4 players? Leeds anyone? Having a salary commitment like that with no guarantee of CL (and income associated with it- and dropping sponsorship revenues if they don't get CL this year).
They will squeeze the fans for even more cash: shirts, tickets, TV subscriptions,... At the end of it all the biggest winners as always are the players and their agents...Everything has a trickle down effect. I am sure players across the premiership will benefit: from Crystal Palace to Chelsea including Liverpool.

Has he got a league goal? I recall him scoring in some European competition but they don't count.
I'm sure if they started losing too much money and found themselves in too much hot water they'd sell - let someone else pay off the debts.
