Off Topic RIP Thread - November

Bitter sweet day yesterday. My sister gave birth to her second son, then 9 hours later my Uncle died of a cardiac arrest aged 59. Just one big **** sandwich.

Just seen this message GLP - condolences to you and your family.

Agreed. I lost my Mum in 2014, she was 1 of 5 and 60. 2016 lost my Auntie, my Mum's youngest sister aged 54 and yesterday her middle brother aged 59.

I took the call off my Grandad who has now lost 3 of his 5 children in 3 years. A bit of a ****er.

My sympathies to you and your Grandad GLP. My Grandad lost his only two children, my Dad and Uncle, in 1943/44...Libyan Desert and Germany. He and Gran lived on for another 20/30 years but they never recovered. We cannot even begin to comprehend their pain.

But congratulations on the new life in your family...the same day. God works in mysterious ways.

Where did you get to in Vietnam, and how did you find it?
We spent three days Hanoi then on to halong bay for a night and then couple of nights in Hoi An before coming out to Cambodia.
Its been a great trip. People very friendly love the food especially in vietnam.
Heat and humidity in Cambodia is a bit oppressive.
It is a holiday with photography involved and we are going home with some stunning photos of people markets etc

Great to here, I'm in the south, 2 hours from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), also I love the food and the people, though where I am I don't think they have ever seen a western guy, as I am looked at as some sort of freak.<laugh>

Condolences GLP as regards your uncle, the loss maybe tempered slightly with the arrival of a nephew hope your sister and child are doing well. It has been my thoughts for many a year of losses of family and friends that I understand life less now than I ever did when I look at some of the despicable people who live to a long age, and yet others mainly law abiding people die relatively young, no justice at all.
