Roger Millward:
Made of iron for someone of his stature and had the world class skills to go with it..

Rodger ' the Dodger' Millward was indeed an amazing player. Saw him play twice at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 1970 as part of the last Gt Britain team to beat the Aussies in an Ashes series. A few years later he played for a time for Cronulla when I lived near there and I had the pleasure of meeting him.

R.I.P. Rodger

Roger Millward MBE, to give him his full honours, as he earned them in spades. For all that he did with the Robins, he never lost sight or love for his home team of Castleford. RIP

I spent my childhood watching City on a Saturday and Rovers on a Sunday.

Roger was a truly inspirational figure. He had the physique of a schoolboy but somehow excelled in a sport surrounded by big horrible thugs.

A genuine legend and sporting hero.

RIP little feller.

Like Polly, as a boy growing up it was City and Rovers. He was every kid's favourite player. The one that stands out for me is the HKR v Aussie tour game in 1967 when he scored a hat- trick, the Aussies didn't know what to do with him. I was there with my late father and grandfather and it feels like only yesterday watching Roger The Dodger sprint for the hat trick try. I was lucky enough to meet him a few times and what a humble and lovely fellow. RIP Roger Millward

Tributes have been paid to former Brookside and Hollyoaks actor Kristian Ealey who has died at the age of 38.

Mr Ealey was best known for his character Matt Musgrove, who appeared in Brookside between 1998 and 2000 and also Hollyoaks from 2000 to 2004.

He was also a popular musician in Liverpool with the band Tramp Attack, and appeared as Ringo Starr in the film In His Life: The John Lennon Story.

Brookside co-star Suzanne Collins said the actor was in Italy when he died.

The cause of his death remains unclear, but Ms Collins said she understood he had gone to sleep with a pain in his arm and had not woken up.

38 is no age at all

Yep I think you are right ... If i remember correctly it was Ronnie Wileman who broke it.... I was Black and white then .. but I was in Awe of Roger Millward. Great player and top bloke too. RIP.
I was informed by a Robins fan yesterday that in a round a bout way Ronnie Wileman killed Roger because apparently, and obviously years later, the cancer that took his life started out in his jaw. Who knows?

RIP Roger, a legend.
