I did see Trumpton, not really Paddington Bear though which seemed more like a normal cartoon. My favourites were actually the surreal and even creepy The Clangers (absolute fave), Bagpuss and Mr Benn. Also saw Fingerbobs. The most distinctive cartoon at the time for me may have been Roobarb and Custard. Bod was very weird. There did seem some finely crafted and/or imaginative things at the time.
I've met Michael Bond a few times through literacy networking, he was a top bloke. The kids in Year 1 wrote to him every year and he'd always send a hand written response back without fail.
Reports in the paper said he was a top bloke. That confirms they were true.
All great - but especially loved Bagpuss.
Also recall a determination to learn how to play the Roobarb & Custard theme tune when I first started with the guitar.
I was 19 when the Clangers came out but still enjoyed them Underneath there were some grown up issues raised.
My nickname whilst the army was Bagpuss, due to my propensity for kipping.
I could fall asleep on a washing line, still can.

I admire someone who can kip on demand.
Good stuff.
Personally, I like to get an afternoon nap in too - clears the mind.
It's a good life skill to have.
Many a time I've dossed down on a floor after an all nighter with just my coat as a pillow whilst my chums have pissed and moaned about where they're going to sleep and that they're uncomfortable.

Only just heard and his work in getting us the stadium was key, and I don't think it is fully recognised.
