My good friend for 46 years, Michael Polley, 84. Met him 2 days after emigrating here - he was the recruiting manager at the company I started working for here in Canada. On the same football team for years, dual centre backs can you believe ? He was on Arsenal's books for 6 weeks way back when - mid/late 50's ? ( I couldn't even make the Hessle Old Boys team), an actor , golf partner, writer & bit of a boxer. The old sod was a great tennis player too.
Father of Sarah - noted Canadian actress and film director. Lovely man - never failed to laugh in his presence, a raconteur supreme.
He's the old fella narrating the first few seconds of Sarah's documentary film below - shown recording a bit of it with his director daughter. Had the honour of reviewing his script version for that movie.
Miss you terribly Mike. RIP

Saddened for your loss, mate. Aside from his own merits, he has a stellar contribution through Sarah on her achievements. Think of the good times you had with him and as a #9, I'd loved to have played against you and hopefully, given the pair of you a torrid time. All the best!

I am saddened by your loss. I was just turned eight when the "C" word took my dad, aged 37. The knowing you will never have another chat, watch another match or enjoy another beer together is pretty overwhelming (speaking of my mum's death here). As time passes the pain recedes and happy memories remain.

You have my best wishes and kindest thoughts. Be strong and muddle through, it's the Yorkshire and English way.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Kemps. Whilst your dad is always in your thoughts, he'll never truly be gone.
