Coronation Street star Cheryl Murray has died aged 71, after starring as Gail Platt's best friend Suzie Birchall on the soap.

The actress first appeared on Corrie in 1977, with her character striking up a friendship with Helen Worth's Gail and most of her storylines revolving around their antics together.

She was later written out in 1979, but returned for a brief stint in Weatherfield in 1983 before saying goodbye to the cobbles for good.

She actually died over a year ago, it’s just been revealed today for some reason.
 
Liverpool have announced the death of their former Liverpool midfielder Peter Cormack at the age of 78.

The Merseyside club confirmed that the ex-Scotland international passed away on Thursday night.

In a statement, the club said: 'We are deeply saddened by the passing of former midfielder Peter Cormack, aged 78. Rest in peace, Peter.'

The news comes five years after the family of the former Red revealed he was battling dementia.

Cormack spent four years at Anfield during the reigns of Bill Shankly and Bill Paisley, making 178 appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals.
 
The Scottish DJ and producer Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster, has died aged 38, his family has announced.

Revill died in Ibiza on Saturday morning after “complications arising from an accidental head injury”, his family said.

A statement said: “It is with profound sorrow that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster.

“Jack tragically died in Ibiza on the morning of October 12, following complications arising from an accidental head injury.

“His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are utterly heartbroken.

“While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate the immense grief of this devastating loss.”
 
Awful news RIP little one
The Bristol City head coach, Liam Manning, is taking a period of leave after the death of his baby son Theo. Manning’s assistant, Chris Hogg, will take charge of the Championship club in his absence.

The club said on Monday: “Everyone at Bristol City football club is deeply saddened by the passing of Liam’s recently born son Theo John Manning. We know that Bristol City’s supporters and the wider football family will share their condolences and deepest sympathy with Liam, his wife, Fran, and his son Isaac during this difficult period. We ask that the privacy of Liam and his family is respected during this time.”
 
A top chef and UK restaurant boss dubbed the 'King of Curry' has sadly passed away aged 56 as heartbreaking tributes pour in.

Shabir Hussain, who founded successful Indian restaurant chain Akbar's, died after a courageous battle with cancer.

Social media posts mourning the restaurant owner said he was 'a great man who left a great legacy' and was 'always welcoming'.
