QPR fan in peace. Was at the game last night and saw the commotion. Didn't know what had happened until I got home. Sorry and sad to hear the outcome. Thoughts go out to his loved ones and friends.
Nothing to do with inter club rivarly according to the BBC news. Terrible news. Hope the mindless scum involved get what they deserve. RIP Mikey Dye
Tragic when this happens time and again with sport used as an excuse for violence I hope those responsible for the attack are quickly brought to justice! Condolences to his friends and family.
Needless and pointless taking of a life, such terrible news. I hope one day such madness will end. RIP Mike and thoughts extended to his family
Absolutely senseless.. There is just no need for it.. People expect their loved ones to come home from a football match, not for this to happen. It's football, people need to get a grip.. I pray it hasn't stemmed from inter-club rivalries especially Cardiff/Swansea, I genuinely thought we'd come so far.. RIP Mike Dye. Hopefully we'll give you a good send off at the Doncaster game on Sat, a minutes ayatollah/silence/applause has been mentioned as a mark of respect. Great sentiments from Swans fans on this thread too
Absolutely shocking waste of life... whatever the circumstances and whoever was responsible I just hope and pray that justice is done and that the punishment fits the crime (assuming this was the assault it looks like). Let's hope this is the last time on these or any shores that someone loses their life over a game!
I'm no lover of Cardiff, little fonder of Swansea, and if I'm being blunt there are few clubs I like less at this moment in time (barring L*t*n, obviously). But none of that matters. However passionate I am in my support of my club, whatever contempt I have for the actions of or individuals at other clubs, it all pales into insignificance compared to the life of a fellow football supporter. Fans have paid a high price over the last 20 years in exchange for action designed to make the game safe, and it deeply saddens me that this sort of thing can still happen. I hope Cardiff, Swansea and the FAW can temporarily put aside their differences to maintain a united front on this matter. RIP Mikey
QPR fan with respect. Can't tell from media reports how this terrible thing happened. The head injuries could have been the result of the fall following a heart attack. BBC saying, 'it is not believed inter-club rivalry is behind the incident'... Either way, awful news. My sympathies for Mike's family and friends.
