Bert Berns, writer of many hits, co wrote Hang On Sloopy with someone else. Surprisingly, The Yardbirds With Jeff Beck recorded it before the McCoys. The McCoys version still stands up and sounds fresh 60 years later.
For some reason the song has always stuck in my mind.

Before I moved just over a year ago I shared a flat with Pat for 14 years and can honestly say we never had a bad word between us, we really did get on well. We talked things over regarding the flat and if either one of us had a problem we'd happily sit down and work it out too. Although there wasn't a romance between us I got to love that lady a hell of a lot.
Sadly Cancer took her on Wednesday night at the age of 68yrs old. She always wanted to see her 70th Birthday so the respite home she was in threw her a surprise early 70th birthday, the look on her face said it all.
Rest In Peace Pat and thank you for those happy years we shared, love you forever.

Thank you love, Pat wasn't one for hugs or saying love ya but when we was told she was going to die she told me she loved me which got me right in the heart, I told her I loved her too and a big beautiful smile appeared.
She was/is a special lady.

Sorry to hear about your loss mate - it's never easy to cope with grief but remember it's the price we pay for love. The grief will fade but the love never will.

Don't forget to look after yourself as well though.

I'm due a cut anyway but there isn't going to be a funeral. It's a no funeral cremation she wants, she didn't want any fuss, which is Pat all over. Her ashes are going to be spread at Whitby on the same spot she spread her husband Jim's ashes.
