Owner of the Colliery tavern.
John was a huge fan of the lads and will be sadly missed by many. He was a lovely man, and would often help me with ticket's.

The last time i saw him he gave my lads 10 pound each, shows the kind of person he was.

Really sad that.

A great character at a time when you rarely know who's running a pub from week to week.

I worked for him many years ago in Stockton when he owned a hotel. I was at college at the time and had a part time job there as a Cellar man.
He used to take me to away games, his passion for the lads was massive which is why he ended up buying the Colliery and moving back upto Sunderland
