Why cant the FA help pay off crippling debt on lower league clubs? Look at all the bastard fines they dish out to top flight clubs - they may aswell put it to some use.

Bloody hell, they raised £50k in a short time.

They were debating on the radio yesterday whether the problem is that England have far too many Professional Clubs (over 100). This is more than anywhere else in the world.

Sad to see but they should never have moved into that stadium. They have gone from one cock up to another without really coming up for air and need a new start maybe this could be a good thing, look at AFC Wimbledon.

Was on the news tother night that the stadium is costing them £30-40k a month alone. there's no way a non-league team can sustain that level of outgoings. If they'd not moved they'd have been fine.
£50k might keep them going for another few weeks but who's going to stump up that amount every month?

they went for the stadium with plans of using it as a conference centre / music venue and other things that would help the club
but the council had other idea's

Why should I care about Darlington?

no ones asking you to. but just imagine you were the fan sat in the crowd at St. James and someone told you next week your club wouldn't exist and its no fault of the players or fans. imagine you're as fanatical about darlo as you are about newcastle. can't hel;p but feel for them.

Can't find anything to confirm this has happened yet.

I do think it's the best way forward for the club and it's fans to wipe the slate clean and completely start again without that stupid stadium crippling their finances. If someone can raise the money to keep them going for a few months they'd surely be better investing it into the new start up club to help them climb the leagues quickly? Otherwise we'll be going through this situation again in a few months.

Because then the lower league teams would just overspend knowing they'd be bailed out bank style. Its not the leagues fault Darlington are buggered, its the clubs, sad as that is to say. Hope they can get a good deal and flog that monstrosity off.

Nothing confirmed yet by the way, just Tash liking to make a dramatic statement.
