My dad passed away last week, I thought I owed him a mention on here as he well & truly was "City til I die". He attended his first game in 1949 at BP, used to take the train from Driffield. His favourite player was Raich Carter. He was responsible for me being a Tiger too. He never saw a match at the KC, when he had the opportunity a few years back he said his heart wouldn't cope with it; I think that sums up how important City were to him. I hope he still sees the games with his angel wings..

Much Sympathy to you TigerCity. Yes my father was a fan from 1947 upto BP closing but hated the KC after the first match. He became an armchair fann from then on but sadly died the season before we got promoted. He always said that he would never see City in the top flight. Sadly he was right. All the best to you and your family on your sad loss. R.I.P.

R-I-P to your dad .. The best thing you can do now is to live for your dad just as he would want you to .. Not easy I know ...Remember every time you smile , your dad smiles with you . All the best to you and the family ...

Sorry to hear that, my Dad who would have gone to his first game around the same time, sadly passed away just over three years ago and he is the reason I am a tigers supporter. He was around to see us get to the top flight but unfortunately wasn't well enough to go to games.

Best wishes to you and your family at this sad time.

Im lucky as i still go to City with my dad,he too said he'd never see City in the prem, but he was there with me at Wemblee and im very grateful for that. His favourate player is also Raich Carter and he attended the great mans funeral. Love to you and your family mate. R.I.P Tigercity snr <rose>

my dad took me to BP when i was 7 and he passed away in 2008 but he was lucky enough to have seen the tigers at kc not in the prem though RIP

Condolences and may he Rest In Peace. I know where you are right now as I lost mine in 2010. He was a big Huddersfield Town fan so I must be a very select few Leeds fans who have a soft spot for them!

It leaves a big hole in your life but it does get easier, albeit very slowly............

Deepest sympathy to you and your family Tigercity my dad past away when he was only 56 many years ago and there are not many days go past that i dont think about him i now write this with tears god bless all departed fathers, Alan.

I've only ever seen my dad cry three times: at both his parents' funerals and the day City got promoted at Wembley. Sharing my love for City with my old man and brother is one of the best things in my life. You have my utmost sympathy and I hope that over time you can look back with happy memories on your shared love of football and the tigers together.

on may 24 2008 a lot of us wished someone was still here to see the day. i did.

RIP mate. My dad died a long time ago now. It was weird but whenever i was in crowds i would see him or thought i saw him. Has anyone else experienced this?
