Blondie drummer Clem Burke has died aged 70 following a 'private battle with cancer'. The rock band shared a tribute on Facebook on Monday which read: 'It is with profound sadness that we relay news of the passing of our beloved friend and bandmate Clem Burke following a private battle with cancer. 'Clem was not just a drummer; he was the heartbeat of Blondie. His talent, energy, and passion for music were unmatched, and his contributions to our sound and success are immeasurable. I have always said his drumming was the best in the world ,I had the pleasure to see him last year drumming for Blondie At the Bonus arena.I never took my eyes off him all night he was simply outstanding . RIP Clem .
Clem Burke RIP, iconic drummer, played in Hull 3 years ago with Blondie, Clem wearing a CBGB's t-shirt.
Absolutely gutted...Easily the best drummer I've seen live. It was absolute privilege to see him play in such a small venue like Social. I also saw him three years ago when Blondie played at Bonus Arena. RIP Clem Burke

wink martindale, 91, us disc jockey, radio personality, game show host, and television producer, it says on wiki. vocals on the hideous "deck of cards", a piece of crap that made the uk charts in 1959 and somehow reached number 5 in july 1963 and number 22 on re-release in january 1973. it was rendered crap by the off-the-scale smug denouement "and friends, the story is true. i know. i was that soldier." if he'd been british, he wouldn't have been known as "wink". probably the worst chart entry ever, although i concede that there's a lot of competition and the bar is infinitely low. i don't recommend readers listen to it on youtube. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wink_Martindale
Joe thompson former Rochdale midfielder RIP only 36 Battled cancer three times after first being diagnosed 12 years ago
Was just going to post that and how awful Deck Of Cards was. It was from something going back decades. Fair play to him he had a long and very successful career. First person to interview Elvis on TV Remember seeing David Frost on his show digging a big hole for it.
