It's 'on standby' according to Perez, perhaps they'll scribe that on his tombstone.

    Walter Mondale obituary
US vice-president in the late 1970s whose bid for the White House in 1984 ended in dismal defeat as Reagan won by a landslide

if you ignore all the hype and stuff, they were a pretty decent pop band and produced some good stuff.

Obviously not to everyone's taste, but they were a good pop band in their day. Got well and truly shafted with their earnings and should have being multi millionaires but never got paid a penny in 25 years.

**** me, I'd forgotten how good this was.

It was long ago and it was far away,

And it was so much better than it is today.

    And a fully orchestrated version.

    RIP Jim Steinman.

The first time I saw, or heard, Meatloaf was in that gig when it was performed on TV, it completely blew me away. I went straight out the next day and bought the album Bat Out Of Hell, I still love it just as much today, and know it word for word after all these years. Thanks for posting the clip Ern <ok>

My mate Phil. Early 50’s, fit as a fiddle, done the seven continents marathon challenge, yes including Antartica. Colon cancer.

PSA to all middle age men, if you haven’t had a colonoscopy, go get one, it might just save your life.

Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, known as Jimi, a 20 year old who drowned in the Thames on Saturday night on his way home from work, after diving in to try and save a woman he saw fall off London Bridge.

Was going to post about him. Scant consolation for his dad to be told he must be a good guy to have raised such a son.

Not a new death, but I couldn't think of another current thread more appropriate than this one.

Wise words from a young head...
