Good luck to him sir
Apologies I was coming from the fact that too many elderly are not cared for in the UK ... If they are then it's through love and family but I am not keen on the industry developed to profit from getting old
Your father is lucky to have a good boy like you
Around me in France I see such a massive difference where resource is aligned with the respect that generation deserves
My neighbour is 93 and is delivered top quality meals and physical therapy in her own home... Daily including weekends
This is standard practice and also in a remote hamlet where her son of 70 also lives, he is fit and could have the same if he wanted... Again standard stuff

It's based on these things that I made my statement

Yes, sorry. Bit of a stressful week.

Now heard that Brian Bedford the (voice) actor who played Robin Hood in the Disney cartoon version also died today....
Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood.
SPOOKY

Given that they were both 36 when they retired that is impressive. Joke!!

Upsettingly I'm 55 next week, which sounds much worse than 54. No one has given me the respect I deserve for at least 30 years. Ingrates.
are you really only 54 stan

A sad loss. Hearing the many tributes, he was a genuine actor, mentor and humanitarian. It's sad to see people like Alan Rickman lost early when they still have so much to give. RIP <rose>

Apologies no offence meant to the 69s but IMO it's crazy to think that

A: this is too early, it's a great innings
B: I ask people to think how many people in the UK face what after 69/70? So often we hear of people retiring then leaving us shortly afterwards, having had a life whereupon they are targeted by financial products throughout their lives to find it very different than they were promised.
I think the recent deaths of two greats should be celebrated regardless of putting a number next to it

Mid Jan is a bad time for many yet it is still time. If you are lucky to be fit then I say enjoy your time. The facts are that not all of us on here will make 69. If you get a chance have a 69 by all means

My message is celebrate life and do it now. We are so lucky to be in it
And facing 69 in the UK IMO looks bleak at times because in this current culture the average person generally is then forgotten about ... I do not think that is right for people who haven't got or had the position to prepare for later days

Loved him in several films but Dogma my fav of his and Rickmans performance was awesome
