Great actor and a proper rise to fame
Only thing to add is 69
What normal person the UK wants to live beyond that?
He found a role and played it to death (with quality and humour - he inserted all the jokes -"Christmas is cancelled" etc into Robin Hood) in the movies, but was by all accounts a very fine stage actor and a nice bloke.
RIP
Sadly never saw him Col. I enjoyed his film work, though it was very clear he wasn't stretching himself, even when using a German accent he was essentially a sarcastic Englishman. Made many a **** film more bearable, though for me the Harry Potter films (and books) are beyond salvage. He was a brilliant stage actor.
Despite struggling with deteriorating health, Paul, my father has reached the age of 79, but I'm sure would like to live longer. I like to think this is normal.
Given that they were both 36 when they retired that is impressive. Joke!!Good luck to him sir
Apologies I was coming from the fact that too many elderly are not cared for in the UK ... If they are then it's through love and family but I am not keen on the industry developed to profit from getting old
Your father is lucky to have a good boy like you
Around me in France I see such a massive difference where resource is aligned with the respect that generation deserves
My neighbour is 93 and is delivered top quality meals and physical therapy in her own home... Daily including weekends
This is standard practice and also in a remote hamlet where her son of 70 also lives, he is fit and could have the same if he wanted... Again standard stuff
It's based on these things that I made my statement
