Apparently a lovely man who will be missed by many.

My word, I'm sat here, just feeling so low because life isn't fair! I don't know Alan at all, but I'm chuffed to bits he was there to witness what will be possibly be City's greatest adventure! Alan I salute you, I was there to see what you saw & my God Alan! What a way to celebrate! RIP Alan,filling up now gotta go!
 
RIP alan, i believe he will have known the risk after discharging himself, but its what he wanted such a shame though.
 
He was a bloody good amateur cricketer back in the day for the old British Railways North team. My late father knew him well and played against him many times. They represented the Hull & East Riding amateur rep team together. A big hearted and big hitting batsmen, a good sport and good laugh in the bar afterwards.
