I went with a slightly different line - why not Faye direct replacement for Chester? Bruce changed formation and it threw them

I also callled for Meyler to add steel and fight

Bruce tried to be positive at the end and put on Fryatt but let's be honest we weren't on top and a point would have been fair dinkum, swapping a striker for a midfielder (Koren) gave the midfield away even more.

Figeuroa needs dropping, he's our only WC rep but is out of form.

Agree with all of those. Quinn should have started in place of Koren, and Meyler starting in a 3-5-2. Faye sub in for Chester and leave Fig on the bench. He's been our weak link for weeks. We lost the game in MF in the second half. Worst performance of the year when a win could have taken some of the pressure off. Steve Bruce has been brilliant this season but he got it wrong yesterday.

I tweeted at half time that Meyler should replace Koren.

As the second half wore on,and we increasingly sank deeper and deeper towards our 18 yard box,I became more puzzled as to why he was still on the bench, and when Sagbo went off,I got puzzled further still.

But Koren had been playing as a striker after Sagbo went off anyway, so the formation was no different when Fryatt replaced him.

Perhaps not entirely, as Figgy deserves much blame - but Bruce was the man who brought him on instead of Faye.

Personally I think Faye is a bloody legend and would love to see him in there for these tight away games.

What complete tosh, Fig was done by Snodgrass by being exposed by his pace. Faye would have been killed

Eh? Why on earth would Faye be out on the left covering Snodgrass? You're trying to compare apples and pears there.

Bruce always sticks Faye in the middle of three CBs, where he can read the game in front of him and the other two can help him out if anything is played behind in an attempt to expose his lack of pace, they can cover. If Faye had come on, Davies would have taken the left side of the three, with Rosey still at LWB.

Sorry I forgot you watch the team train day in day out.

Complete crap, it was nothing to do with the defence, it was all about the midfield, Koren, Huddlestone and Livermores retention was dire. Yes, fig had a poor game but he didn't lose us the game. It was ours to win, but we lost the midfield battle easily and our passing was terrible.

Who is this idiot?

Thank you! Obvious to most of us but not to everyone, it seems.

Pointless discussion. At what point was it the correct decision to put someone in who has played once or twice all season.... Fig has not been great as of late, but neither has the rest of the team over the last few games, looking for excuses for the defeat.

I thought a Forum was to discuss, so discuss. It takes a simple mind to start spouting insults when someone doesn't agree.

What pace? It's well regarded that Snodgrass has no pace. Even Swann commented during the game that Snodgrass reminded him of another Scottish winger - Robertson. Loads of tricks but no pace.

Why would he need to? It's common sense when Faye's in the side.

Not going to enter the Faye debate as I think it a red-herring. Figs was poor, again. Madrid's points about losing the midfield and piss-poor passing is spot on - there was no confidence on show. Bruce and Agnew have much to do because this form will see us relegated.
