Winning one session wouldn't go a miss either!
It's a later start tonight? 2am I think, so may wake up early and see the 2nd and 3rd sessions..
It's a combination of factors mate IMO:
The squad they picked wasn't the strongest they could have.
The preparation time was ****.
The fact none of the staff knew the extent of Trotts issues suggests a certain malaise within the coaching staff.
The Aussies have improved too in fairness.
However the biggest issue of all is this idea that players should just keep their places regardless of recent performances. Don't get me wrong I'm not for chopping and changing too often but we've been underperforming as a batting unit for a long time now and we all knew it. How the hell did the England staff miss it then??? The way we've played (even during the home series) has been littered with unbelievably basic errors. It's no good relying on players past glories and simply hoping they will return to form at the right time.
I feel sorry for my lad. He lives in Perth and is a member of the Western Australia Club. He's going to take some stick whatever happens!!!

Found the convicts in Perth to be all right. We were at a Big Bash match (20/20) and there was plenty of banter and it was fine. Apart fron 1 idiot who go a bit silly but the Assies had a go at him via the "don't dish it out if you can't take it back" approach.
I know sod all about cricket but I do know we don't normally win at Perth so I wouldn't be surprised if we at least got a draw.
