Their first innings, thy may as well get as big a score as they can. They may being able to force the follow on too then.

Nah, wouldn't enforce the follow on. Pitch is dry and on day 5 is going to be a nightmare to bat on. Been saying it's been like a day 3 pitch on day 1 so come day 5 (if it gets that far) will be horrible to bat on.

They'll get 450ish here, hope to bowl us out for anything around 300 or lower then bat and get another lead of 350+ before bowling us out on the final day.

<whistle>

Aye, that drop cost us not only the 100+ runs he went onto make, but Clarke wouldn't have confidence in the remaining batsmen as he did with Hadin..
He know owes us a "top top" knock, anything less than 100 won't be acceptable!
Keep the faith for now, hopefully we can hang on for a draw, if so, being 1 down with 3 to play isn't too bad.

Watched till lunch then it got too depressing so gave up. Woke up this morning to see they'd piled on a load more and captain cook had struggled again.

Seems like just can't cope with the pace they bowl at

I wouldn't mind, but Johnson's nothing better than a journeyman chucker. We know we've got the ability in the batting dept. Where's the commitment and application. If we go two down, I reckon it's done with, and I'm an optimist when it comes to cricket.

If we manage to keep them out in the field a while then Johnson won't be bowling at 90+ mph for much longer which should make him easy to pick off considering how many **** balls he delivers. Get's away with it most of the time because of his pace.

Need some of our batsmen to hit form but in the last 6 ashes first innings our highest total has only been 380odd which isn't a good stat <yikes>

1am...Root gone and KP just gifted his wicket already <doh> Goes from bad to worse

Well this is going well

It's mad though mate how the luck of teams can change in cricket especially. For the last decade almost everything has stuck for us and the aussies looked like they couldn't buy a break....and now we're spilling everything and that stuffy twat fumbled that 3 fooking times and still caught it <wah> It's mad eh.

50 up for Carberry <applause> and a 6 from Bell....that's the first time I've smiled since the first day of the first test <laugh>

These 2 need to put on a big big partnership, talking 200+ then the tail to wag and get somewhere close.

Only 20 mins till lunch <ok>

And knowing us we're bound to lose one of them 5 minutes before lunch to a silly shot <doh>

One more wicket and I'm off to bed. I just KNOW I'll get up in the morning and we'll be following-on. And that's the Ashes gone before Christmas! :emoticon-0120-doh:

Awesome catch to be fair.

Warner is a twat, but bloody good batsman & fielder.
