Bad news guys - Sachin was caught on 74. Shame he couldn't make his century. As this is probably his last innings, he ends on 15,921 runs. #Legend

Lara was better
Some further good prep for the first test yesterday. Good knock for Root, (**** Bairstow) and the bowlers each got a wicket. Only 30 odd runs ahead with 6 wickets in hand. Skittle them out and knock them off![]()
Haha - I would say Lara looked more elegant and classier, and certainly saved his team with more important knocks than Sachin.
True
You confident about the Ashes? ...

Both legendary batsmen. By and large, Lara had the misfortune to be in a poor Windies side, so carried a heavy burden. A bit like Mike Atherton for England.

Sounds a bit like me having to carry the Not606 burden![]()
I'll be happy to share this burden ...![]()

I can't support you in this, I'm afraid. You're too anti-OT for my blood![]()
LOL - RHC, if I was given the honour of being Moderator, I would give you a special dispensation. You will also be immune from bans and censorship ...

Won the toss and put the convicts in. Good start - 90 odd for 5, but closed on 271 - 5. Broad excellent, Finn and Rankin not so.
Not seen one score in the whole thread.

Sachin Tendulkar: The world's 29th best batsman?

I reckon Carberry will open with Cook, Root at six and Tremlett will get the third seamer spot. Bring it ****ing on.Quite an interesting little article comparing the Little Master, Lara, Ponting, Kallis and Sangakkarer. Some good stats in there too Basically says what we all know, if you wanted a player to get you an innings in a tight spot you'd go for Lara but if you look for a player who will hardly miss a beat year after year it's Tendulkar.

So. A win by 7 wickets in the final tour match before the first Ashes test in Brisbane this coming Thursday. Good preparationI reckon Carberry will open with Cook, Root at six and Tremlett will get the third seamer spot. Bring it ****ing on.
I'll be happy with that line-up..
Stick it up the Aussies from day 1, session 1, ball 1.. no letting up until the Ashes have been retained!

Looks like Prior may not make it. A chance Bairstow better hadn't **** up
