That's the win gone IMO, no one else is capable of clocking up the amount of runs we need in such a short space of time. Draw is subject to rain too IMO

Ian Bell can bat a bit. Tis raining now anyhoo, another pitch inspection imminent. It'll come down to how much playing time we actually get now, not sure there'll be enough to make 332.

Won the toss and batting first.

Time for a big score first innings for a nice change this series.

Which is still going on by the way, not that you'd know it now the ashes are retained and the press has turned its attention to football.

Who's going to do the obligatory "Root *cough*" you, me or Sweats?

You can have this one, must be your turn!

He's only had one good one and that's 7 innings now <laugh> even his century he got dropped on 12.

Again I'd like to clarify I think he's a brilliant batsman and will be an opener for years to come. I just never thought this was the series to bring him in as an opener <ok>

Just wanted everyone to know that both are ****e. <ok>

DRS and Rodgers - I'm confused. If they were judging an LB, but the replay shows it comes off the bat first and is then caught by the keeper, is that not still out?

Not sure, think they can only evaluate one type of dismissal at a time, so if it shows a player would incidentally have been caught behind on an LBW review then it's not out as the fielding team aren't basing their use of DRS on caught behind or a suspected edge.

Bumpa dee bump.

How poor has England's batting been again, up to the bowlers to save the day again. Bairstow doesn't look like he can cut it at test match level in particular.
