Indeed, but it never happens. Teams don't suddenly flick a switch and think 'let's just knuckle down and bat for two days final innings'. Mental and physical tiredness has taken over by then. Even if we score no more runs and are all out in an hour tomorrow Australia still will not win.
As for the Broad incident, only just seen it as have been on the beach all evening but after yesterday I say **** it. Ordinarily he should walk but Trott was not out yesterday and they also must have heard him hit it.
Both sides will have to live with **** decisions all this series.
For two days is a rarity I know and my point wasn't really that they could bat for two days more that they could bat better than first innings just as we've done today (bear in mind that was posted just after tea when the lead was a lot less than now). There hasn't been massive turn still for Swanny and I still think this one's not over yet. Remember we lost our last 4 wickets for just 2 runs in the first so the lead could still be achievable with a day and a half left.
We've really fought hard today and I'm over the moon with how Bell went about his innings. Patient and yet rarely got bogged down for too long without picking off the bad balls and dispatching them for boundaries. Should be another good days cricket tomorrow and I wouldn't bet against a few more twists and turns yet. We're now in a good spot...fingers crossed we ram our advantage home
Enjoy the atmos
