well..... erm.. thats unexpected

i was busy at work and missed the whole thing. all nicely shared out as well between the 4 bowlers.

Not massively. Just very good bowling. Got the ball outside off stump on most cases with just enough movement.

other than a horrible swipe to a short ball that somehow made it to mid on for simple catch, everything else was behind the stumps from edges.

I did enjoy Joe Root giving the crowd some fun with an lbw review for Curren Hat trick chance. Guy almost middle it into his pads <laugh>
 
Be some monumental **** up if we lose from here.. but it is England so who knows!

India shouldn’t be getting anymore than 400 so this game should be won by an innings or needing 50 odd to win.

Im a bit disappointed root showed zero confidence in the batsmen to see this one out and declined having a bowl at india for a half hour. 4 or 5 anderson overs then a sleep and another 8 today could have ended this game early.

Maybe he feel the early morning is better but I just feel as if he will drag this out (negatively) and waste hour or so with tail enders getting shag all runs for it.

theres no way india can declare form where they are and try win this so its really entirely down to us getting 10 wickets and how long it takes. 50 more or less runs should make no odds. It seems to be we fear the collapse in the 4th innings more than we anticipate the crushing win.

What i would say is bar burns we actually saw 3 or 4 "batsmen" out there for us. Malan did ok, none of this mechanical action stuff like those dropped. Hameed did ok as well. reasonable but still they could get at him i feel.

Lets face it after that point Bairstow, buttler and moeen all failed again so there no mid order this series.

England need to put the pressure on themselves to perform.

It’s only day 3 today. Still got 3 more days to play. No rush. We can bat for another 3 hours today if needed, give the fans a bit of a game. If we can’t bowl them out in 2 and half days then don’t deserve to win.

Ah, it all seems rather unnecessary and wearing the pitch for any 4th innings.

we have come out to bat so i'm disappointed. Our opening bowler is out there running between wickets and at risk of a ball to the head or glove.

overton seems eager to score. we better declare once he goes.

All india need do is go save singles and put no catchers in and play slow and waste time here.

lead 350 odd right now.

Even if they get 500 in 2 days its still only 150 to win. Its imo no faith in the batting. same negativity as last game where we threw away a win/at worst draw position and ended up losing by shutting down once the lead was 170/180.

We need to be more positive here.

hopefully overton is there to score fast and not block.
 
all we need now is a ball hitting anderson in the head.to complete this debacle.

maybe just a broken finger either just to really show how unnecessary this all is.

at best they socre about 10-20 more. max.

robinson was protected by overton for an hour, not let bat. now jimmy Anderson is not allowed bat?

Juat enjoy England doing wel mito. Doesn’t happen that often with the bat.

what was the point of our two main line bowlers for the game doing out in the middle getting balls thrown at them.

I can understand having an over to upset the indian batsmen having to go in and turn around but to expose Anderson for 0 runs was stupid. It was bas enough exposing Robinson to it.

Now anderson has to go in, take off pads and crap and get ready instead of being ready now and in the mindset to bowl.
