Martinez turned Stones from a punt to play RB from Barnsley to a player(who you say is behind Jags and Cahill for England)into a player the top coach in the world spunked £50m on. Let’s see who starts at CB this summer for England.

that wasn't under martinez is it <doh>. I suppose Brenden Rodgers turned Sterling into a world class player and Jose made Oscar world class.

Said top coach has also spunked plenty of cash in the past.

edit: referring to him starting this summer

It could go tits up from the off though pj, if his snarling and intimidation tactics have a negative effect nothings gonna improve anytime soon, because players these days like their arses kissed by the grateful manager.
Don't forget we're halfway through the season and once he's installed as manager there's no going back until at least after the current season ends.

Would rather go down and have a clean sheet than keep these toxic influences. It’s not just players, but something tells me it runs to staff also.

Martinez turned down offers for Stones. Don’t tell me that as he got worse as a player his value went up? Maybe the days with Koeman turned him into a much wanted player

Just a rough guess, I think Rooney might be the fly in the ointment behind the scenes giving the big I am, I'm probably wrong but if he's anything like his Mrs he's all fur coat and no knickers and forgets a humble beginning in life.

Happened to plenty of players. Plenty of players have moved for stupid values when they don't deserve it. Stones wouldn't be the first or the last.

Anyway, good luck with your martinez crusade.

Yup lol....its a sad state of affairs but we need him as without a fire fighter type manager we look fooked and down...
Shocking all things considered..

I am guessing but I think the real reason Koeman went is Steve Walsh and there cannot have been a plan to replace

Pep as made both stones and talent look good. Frankly 70% possession and a really good keeper behind them helps a lot but city still don't hold many clean sheets

Could be, but he took a drop to come and could have got more to make a move into Europe or China(we all know he wouldn’t want to leave UK however)

If he is the bad apple, then blame Koeman as he publicly chas d him from January.

Could be that Koeman and Walsh couldn’t work together. But it worked with Gueye(walsh signing) And Lookman.

Maybe it was honeymooners period for 12 months. Walsh tried to steel club in n a direction the manager(not a coach)didn’t want.

I heard they were at each other's throats.

Walsh buying who he wanted not Koeman etc.

It’s not a crusade you mug! It’s just a statement that I feel it couldn’t have gone worse if we had backed Bobby with £150m.

I guess around doers shouldn’t take credit for turning Sterling into a £50m player either, just luck that City will buy any old tat for over the summer dds.

Koeman isn’t clean from this. Sigurdsson, a definite Koeman buy.

If Koeman agreed his deal to work with Walsh, then turned the club upside down after 12 months working together......they both should go.

So now Allardyce to take charge at Everton - but the media constantly say that foreigners are the ones preventing young British managers from getting top jobs ...

Unsworth having to update the press on Everton's new manager recruitment process because Moshiri is too cowardly to come out of hiding FFS

It’s going to be Rooney.
