Would definitely take him back. Still only a year older than JWP.
I'd pay 25 million.
You don't think he would be as he could have been? That sounds very ambiguous Beddytare. What if you thought he could have been brilliant and he comes back and becomes 90% brilliant?
He was 17 when he left playing in league 1. No-one knew how good he was or could have been. It's a little like the Theo myth when Saints fans say Arsenal have turned him from Pelle into Parlour. It simply isn't true.
They were two young kids who looked really full of potential. That potential didn't mean they were going to be great. Lots of our kids have potential, but not many become Gareth Bale. Sorry but it is Saints coloured glasses. Theo was 16 for goodness sake; a mere boy.
I'd take him back but I wouldn't pay £25m. £10-15m tops. Nearer £10m

Shall we buy Adam back as well?
I can see Beddys failure argument, but do we think Saint Mick felt that? From interviews I've seen Alex would enjoy a return to a club he clearly thinks of with affection.
Love to see him back.
I just don't think his mind would get fired up enough. Surely he would think himself a failure by coming back? His form has not exactly been inspiring when he has played for Arsenal. When he went he was full of potential he has not reached the expectations to be sure. Whether we could get him back to his best is doubtful. I just think there is better out there for the money. Jmo
Something Arsenal have almost entirely wasted so far. He has barely improved over the precocious 17 year old. He's been coached in the Arsenal/Wenger method and from what I can see that doesn't bring a player on in any great way. Also Arsenal wouldn't take a loss on him, 22 year old England International with undeniable ability/potential - didn't we get £15million! I would question his temperament though.
Would absolutely have him back. But that means mane off?
Shall we buy Adam back as well?
