I like Maguire but the fact is he is one of a nucleus of players that have consistently failed to get us promoted over the last 3 seasons, he will go down in the clubs history as part of the worst teams we have ever had in our history. Johnson has had 6 months, Covid and a takeover to contend with. I am not his greatest fan but looking at it with common sense tells you he must be given a chance, we have proven the managerial chopping and changing also fails.
I think something went on, I think we are right to release him but I also think as he proved against crewe coming on for 25 minutes he can change a game.
I don't think he's fit enough to start games but I do feel he should have been used a lot more in games and would have made a difference.
Like I said I think something has obviously happened between him and Johnson whether he should have put that to one side and still played him we can't say as we don't know what went on but if it had a negative affect on results then Johnson maybe made the wrong call

Banging your head against a brick wall mate. Some people are saying it's the defence that made him look good, that would be the same makeshift defense cos all our 1st choices were injured.

He's a good league 1 keeper
Yeah I know. Somehow when he isn’t conceding it’s the defence. When he is conceding it’s him! Much like the “players won us the game” vs “manager lost us the game”

Which youngsters are we hoping to make an impact next season?

Personally I'd like to see us bringing in some younger players with real potential. Even if they are on loan from the premier League. If we go up, we'd stand a good chance of making the moves permanent.

Out of our current batch. I'd like to see Younger & Embleton get some game time, even if it's more from the bench to begin with. Give them 30 minutes at the end of the game, depending on how the game is going. I'm undecided about Diamond and I'm not sure about Patterson. Perhaps let Patterson play the cup games and see how he does.

Of all the u23s I really want to see Dan Neil get a chance. He has really impressed me with his play and his attitude when I have seen him.

I forgot about him. I'm willing to give any of the academy lads a bit of time if they are deemed good enough by the manager and coaches

Disappointed to see Maguire go. Another shame to see Burge staying, I hope that doesn’t mean he’s still number 1 next season <doh>

A keeper is absolute priority. If we are serious about promotion we can’t be going into this season with Burge still as number 1. The problem is I think LJ rates him, hope I’m wrong like.
