Was thinking just because of the lack of numbers we might have been tempted to renew someone like power or McLaughlin so the squad wasn’t too depleted going into the summer but I’m Delighted we haven’t given another chance to the released list, hopefully we can find buyers for a few of the ones still under contract too.
I hope it means that we are confident of getting the right replacements
Sad to see Leadbitter go as hes one of us, and I still felt he had something to offer, I would have offered him another year and played him in the U23's as a player coach, the rest I am glad to see the back of, and hope the next clear out is just as clinical as this one, I can think of a further five that I would gladly say goodbye to, and I'm not talking about O/9, Hume or Gooch. so on the whole this is a very promising start.
We defo need 10 new players, inc. an entirely new defensive unit as per your note above. I'm not sure why we would keep Bailey-Wright as he looked worn-out & miles off the pace by the end of the season. Thise in bold could be replaced with better, but fill the big holes first.

my understanding is he had a similar clause to McGeady - it got automatically renewed after starting so many games. Which was the right clause for the club to put in at the time - wanted to avoid another Jon McL situation.
Can see Power and Grigg both going to Ipswich to be reunited with Cook. Ipswich have some money to spend as well after their takeover. Please make it happen.
None of that is really a surprise. Hopefully a number of those still under contract will be moved on too. Looking forward to seeing a very different side next season. Hopefully the big influx that we need will settle quickly.
They'd probably do well there tbf. I'd have still had Cook as our manager tbh, know he hasn't been great at Ipswich but I just think he'd be a better fit here.
The line in the statement about discussions continuing with Wyke, when we say the other three will be offered contracts, suggests that we don’t want to publicly commit to offering a contract.

I expect we'll be pretty aggressive in moving on some still under contract as well.
