He'll cost more than that IMO ^

AC(Chelsea) anit getting any younger, he's already 30, Chelsea would demand AT LEAST a initial 5m!

I personally think if Enrique goes we should put Jonas back on the RW, put Barton back in the centre mid and slowly blood Ferguson on the LW (with Arfa able to cover/play there if needed but mainly have him as the AM/SS role) and just find a LB to replace Enrique.
I reckon Jonas would certainly be able to link well with Simpson and probably be able to cross better since he wouldn't have to cut inside onto his other foot like he has too atm. It would also make us a lot less lopsided than we are atm.

where does nolan fit into your master plan then you plank?

not sure if anyone has said this allready but...the sun has it up that its a done deal.. however..

(let slip a deal for the Argentine left-back has already been done while appearing on Norwegian TV) ... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...s-a-done-deal-according-to-Phil-Thompson.html

i thought jose was spanish? haha

Jose is Spanish.

After much wrangling with the Argentinian minister in Brussles; Perch has just been granted Argentinian citizenship...

Patrick Van Aarnolt (sp?) looks like he has potential, didn't see much of him when he was with us on loan but appears to be doing ok for Leicester. Though nowhere near as good as Jose at present. From what I've seen of Ferguson he looks good going forward but not so hot defending which let's face is his job at LB. Great if he can get forward and put crosses in but he has to be able to defend fisr and foremost.

this!

VAN IS THE MAN.

If Enrique wants to go then let him. I love the dude, but we need people who are 100% committed to the cause. You can't blame him for wanting to go to a bigger and dare I say "better" team. He wants to play for his country and has more chance at a big club.

I say get Van Anholt and let him and Fergie spar for a place as they both have the pace and ability to step in at LM if needed as well.

Either that or go all out and get Roberto Carlos, ha

Wow. What a witty retort, I bow down to your superior intelligence at feeling the need to insult someone over their opinion as opposed to you know, actually thinking of something yourself?
I guess that is beyond you though.

Pardew has come out and said he is going to play Arfa in the AM role and if we play 4-5-1 you can put Nolan back into CM with Tiote and Barton. Not exactly rocket science is it?

Alan Pardew said:
“Next season? He will play a central role in our attacking line. I want to use him as a playmaker, a number 10, just behind one forward. I am convinced he is able to score between 10 and 15 goals a season. We will think about how to protect him during matches. Our expectations are big but once again we will go slowly. The end to this season will allow us to see if he has not lost his acceleration quality.”

Don't people realise that even if we use Fergie as first choice we will need cover, and please don't say Perch is LB cover!

I would buy someone experienced (26-32) who can come in for a few years before Fergie becomes a first team regular.

So i guess Pardew wont be buying more than one striker next season then...

He obviously wants to revert to the old 4-4-1-1 system with a Target man upfront... I wouldn't be supised if we buy Carlton Cole now. I really want us to play either 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2, not 4-5-1.

<grr>

If we must play 4-4-1-1 with Ben Arfa behind a striker, i'd play -

-Gervinho---Barton---Tiote----Jonas/New winger

--------------Ben Arfa-------------

--------------Sturridge------------

<****infacepalm>

I know exactly what i was trying to say, but you obviously didn't grasp again the point i was trying to get across, but atleast, for once, you're trying to have a conversation on this instead of being your usual ****ish self.

I can't be bothered to again write an essay trying to explain this, so i'll make it brief.

- Enrique is one of two people on this team that we rely on for quality deliveries into the box. Him and Barton are both the only consistant crossers of the ball we have.

- Instead of people worrying about trying to get a replacement for the creativity that we'll miss from Enrique from the LB position, we just need to sign a LB that can defend that left side and one that is a solid left back player.

- We can sign additional creative players in the summer, to make up for the loss of quality if we sell Enrique. We can't rely on a LB to put in a huge share of the crosses, we need to add quality to the midfield.

- We don't need to spend huge amounts trying to get someone near to the quality of Enrique. I'd like to sign someone that can fill his shoes. I'm not saying lets sign any average LB and stick him in the team, but Enrique is a world class LB, and there's only 2 or 3 others in this league that are as good as Enrique. We don't need to sign somoene of Enrique's class, just someone that will provide solid protection at the back, and one with pace. We don't necessarily need one to create goal scoring opportunities like Jose. We can buy the sort of creative players we need to do that in the summer, as after Barton and Enrique, no one seems to provide anywhere near as good as them.

Hopefully this will end it and you will understand what i was saying...

NUFC.com had a very good point, if they have agreed a deal does that mean they have tapped the player up?? Could they get done for this?
Doubt it because it’s Liverpool, but had it been Joey Barton trying to buy him he would get a 6 month ban…
